The RT glovebox locks when the steering is turned to either side and the steering lock engaged. This feature is explained in your manual.

Then mine is broken to and has never worked. Had no idea it was even supposed to lock.

Nature of the beast. Problems, yes, excessive? I'd say so in the early days, getting better? Definitely! Good enough? No! Never!

Is the Spyder the greatest ride since sliced bread!

Only you can answer that question. But even the few who have given up on their Syder said it was a GREAT Ride and some of the best fun they'd ever had.

On the other hand, I've known people that purchased a motorcycle, it never gave them any trouble and they hated it.

Problems

My 2011 rs se5 is being delivered tomorrow. Ive waited 2 weeks for the phantom rims and powder coating of back rim black. Will post picks tomorrow evening.

My concern is the amount of disatisfaction I am reading from owners on this site regarding issues and the inability to resolve them with dealers and/or brp.

I cant lie, this is a big purchase for me. This concerns me.

Is this a high quality product? Most reviews tend to be positive, but possibly bias.
I do plan to extend the warrenty for an additional 3 years. Im still concerned about the durability.
The spyder dealer said the heating issues have been resolved for 2011. Is this true?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

After all is said and done, im still very excited.

Hi, 2008 RS 7,000 + miles and not a single problem except for factor recalls. Change your oil every 3,000 and add Spyderpops upgrades.

I have owned many BRP products SKI-DOOS, E-Tec outboard motor , spyder. BRP makes a quality product but like any mechanical motor you are going to have problems. In my opinion the dealer makes or breaks your owning experience. I have always sought great dealers to buy from. My spyder experience so far has been great, awesome all because of my great dealer. When my spyder has issues my dealers techs are able to fix them fast and correct the first time. On my opart I am patient with my dealer and give them enough time to fix the problem and in return I get great service and treated like a customer should be. My dealer is a family owned business and is a full line platinum BRP dealer. If you follow the posts on this web site you will here people talk about how great COWTOWN (,spyder dealer in MO) is , this dealer has set the bar very high and I am fortunate to have a dealer that is as great as COWTOWN is.:2thumbs:
