so it's on the news that with the motorcycle problem last week on the west side highway there was a few under cover off duty police officers in the pack riding, now yesterday they arrested one of them for trying to brake the rear window of the suv and being involved in the beating the driver got. WHAT HAPPENED TO PROTECT AND SERVE, but i guess there is good and bad in everyone

I'd like a bit more information about this one also...
It appears that he may have been an undercover guy, who just rode recreationally with these mutts...
He may not have wanted to get involved and jepoardize his undercover status, but then he supposedly was videod pounding on the rear window of the Rover.

If he were UC, then he would not be doing anything recreationally. There is absolutely zero time off work when you are UC. Also, UC is usually a fed police program because of multi-jurisdictional as well as the cost of the UC operation--officer, follow team, apartment etc. Then most UC officers get placed in witness protection--this is a BIG deal.

In this case we are not receiving complete information. And what we are getting is a batch of untruths.

I understand he's an undercover cop, but was off duty and on his own time. He was with that gang because he's part of it. Even if he wasn't pounding on the SUV window, he had a duty to report the incident immediately, but he waited 3 days before doing so.

A true UC operation would entail complete immersion into the outlaw motorcycle gang. Are these riders OMG? I think they are jerks, but I am unsure they are OMG. Local PD probably not have a UC operation in a national OMG. According to several links, Hollywood Stuntz does not qualify as an OMG. So why would NYC PD be involved? My opinion: not at all. The officer was probably just off duty, getting himself into trouble...just like an off work accountant or mechanic might do....

This was reported to be him, on his off-time.

NYC Police Are never ''tectonically'' off duty, That is why they can carry their guns [An extension of their manhood] 24/7. And that is why they can't look the other way when a crime is being committed..

you wonder if they really want to get involved when they are off duty, my doctor was sued because someone came in to the office bleeding and he helped the person until the ambulance came and some how he got involved in a law suit. he told me he would never do that again. i also know a nurse that will look away and not help if someone needs help. i knew a lt. in the nypd that never carried his gun off duty and would never even say he was a cop. so i think the off duty cops with this ride had a few wild hairs across their butt's and rode with this gang because they liked the mentality of this life style

As I said in another post. We probably will never be able to find out what happen to who and when. the posted original story stated the SUV driver told the cops "that the bikers were hogging the road". One version had the SUV tailgating and hitting a biker, stopping, then taking off. That is what started things.
Undercover cop on duty ???? Cops off duty ???? ( or not on the duty they were hired to do, should as patrol the streets)
The media will keep milking it for they can.
Mob Mentality took over. Otherwise normal people do "bad things". Reports of parents booing a oposing high school sport team. Somebody on the team gives the parents the ditigal salute. The parent wait till the busses leave, then start throwing rocks at the busse. Shine bright lights at the bus drivers eyes. Chase the busses and throw things. Urban legend, NO. Not often, but it happened more then once while I drove the bus. (15 years yellow bus driver).
Extreme example are the soccer riots overseas, all kinds of people die in some of them, over a game???
