• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You knew it had to come - there's a Chinese Spyder!

As the owner of a 2023 Chinese built Haval AWD, which I have had for 6 months with zero issues, a first class owners manual, and $40k cheaper than the Audi it replaced but with all the same bells and whistles, BRP had better lift their game if this goes global. It will provide serious competition.;)

I'm not a big fan of Canada, but I don't have any real reason to avoid Canadian made products like my RT. But I do not want to provide more support for the Chinese Communist Party when I can find reasonable alternative products to buy. I've read decent things about CFMOTO but I doubt that I would ever consider buying one. I do find it interesting that none of the major Japanese motorcycle companies, all with outstanding reputations for quality and reliability (Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki) have gotten into the reverse trike business. Before I bought my Spyder I was a big and loyal fan of Honda products. If Honda came out with a reverse trike I would seriously take a look at it. But not from any Chinese company unless that company were based in Taiwan.

I got curious and dug into this new 3-wheeler a little. It's rather murky, but kind of interesting.

In short. The engine is called the X-Wedge. It started life in the early 2000's as an S&S designed and built Harley aftermarket engine. The engine is a V-Twin Harley clone.

The X-Wedge is going to be built as a family of bikes, with 2 different displacements, 1000cc and 2000cc. The models will be a Harley clone, like a Street Glide and one like a Road King. One with a side car, and the Ryker type 3-wheeler. The Ryker knock off is called the "Walker WR1000", with a CVT and a reverse gear.

They are apparently designed by Kiska, which is an international company. The bikes are produced in Chongqing, China in partnership with Hisun (Huansong Industrial Group). Details are thin for now.

A CF Moto 3 wheeler could be a decent one. Heck, I have as many CF Moto dealers in my area as Can Am dealers. Shipped parts from China can't be any worse than parts from Canada.

If you look a little closer at the parts from Canada you will see that many are in fact made in China like the Kenda tires. FWIW

And a little competition never hurts. Hell, maybe BRP could learn/improve a thing or two.

“Market-place Competitors” aside… this “Walker WR1000” look/spex isn’t doing anything for me, personally.
975 cc engine, 2 cyl, 81 HP. Couldn’t find much on the weight.

Getting some slight Slingshot vibes from the front. With an almost robot cartoon face that I can’t unsee…
And curiously enough, the Walker doesn’t use the same S&S derived engine build as the other 4 X-Wedge bikes (???)
they went with a similar but different engine build for it.

Would luv to know more about the why on that if its true…
Guess we’ll see how that turns out for them.

If you do a search for the X-wedge, and end up on their website, 58moto, there's other models. One of which, looks very Spyder-like.

Then there's this beast - :yikes: Definitely a conversation starter.

And the best part is, you don't even need to swerve or stop, if there's a cow in the middle of the road. Just give 'er the gas, and send it flying, with that freight train inspired grill. :trike:
