You don't notice the gas smell until you read about it all the time

Help me out here. I was never bothered by the gas smell until I read so much about it here. Now I notice it all the time.

Question? Where does the gas smell come from? What is the cause of it? and yes I know the gas smell comes from gas, but how does it come to be that we can smell it coming from the bike after it has been parked in garage.

I am just trying to understand this logically or step by step.

Can someone please explain it to me, simply.

We have a new RT, replaced gas cap per recall, never overfill and we have smells too. I thought that was the norm till I started reading posts here and my nose became more aware of the smell as well. lol...

I have a 2012RT never had a gas smell with the old or new gas cap.:dontknow:
