The sport aircraft license is very limited in scope. That makes this a very expensive toy for the little you can get out of it. better off to buy a share in a Cessna someplace.

Outside of the FAA go to www.eaa.org

Experimental aircraft association . They and the AOPA basically petitioned the faa for the sport pilot certificate.
The really big plus about that certificate is that u can self certify on the medical if u have a valid drivers license. however the certification is really limited for anything practical ..
