• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Denny,

We’ve already explored the possibilities and will need to obtain the bike without having to buy it. I believe it’s doable but are we talking about a replacement piece of glass for the OEM bracket or a shield/bracket? Regardless if you or anyone you know live in or around the Los Angeles area we like to hear from you.

Regards,

Joe Duval

Hi Denny,

We're considering doing something for the F3. Our current shields won't work. There's a requirement for a mounting system with metal brackets.

Another windshield thread

Talked to Madstadt today and they have 2 riders testing their windshield and said it should be ready to go in a week or so. They put a link on their site that you can respond to and get a email when they start selling them. Go to the Can Am under m/c products and click on F3 Spyder.

My old GS with a Madstad smoked shield. I tried 3 different shields and this was the best for me. I will be getting one for my FS 3

As for Now

It looks like Mastad is clearly in the lead getting their F3 windshield to market first. By the responses it looks like several have already had their products and like them. Other makers aren't far behind and it will be interesting to see what designs/solutions they come up with. Some makers just need an owner to take their F3 to them so they can do the development work, using the bike as a sort-of test mule or mock-up. Hopefully someone will step forward to help that process along.

Here are some better pictures of the brackets. the 2 round things on the paper plate attach to the upper part of the frame thing that goes around the gauges, and the brackets on the windshield attach to that. The other parts go to the lower end of the windshield and the front of that frame thing that goes around the vent area in front of the gauges. Very technical terminology, eh?
Maybe it's just me, but those brackets appear to be rather thick and taking up a lot of visual field on the surface of the windshield.

Any thoughts about that observation???

Similar Size but have an F3T with F4

I am 5'8" with 30" inseam, just traded a 2016 RT-SS that I had installed an F4 wide and tall screen on as I prefer to look through the screen versus over. I now have an 2016 F3L and have put a 25" tinted F4 screen on. I look through the screen and my wife has no buffeting while riding passenger. This is the second screen i've bought from Don Frank, couldn't be happier with the product or service.
