• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Yet another tire question

:yikes: Yea another one. Looking at replacing front tires with federal Formoza AZ01 165 55 15. The tire are getting hard to find, anyone used the AZ01 175 55 15? Was there any problems with clearance?

I installed 3 tires on my 2014 RTS this past Saturday. I went all Kumho. Fronts are 155/60/15 and rear is a 205/55/15. They beat the OEMs hands down...running 20 psi in the front and 24 psi in the rear. Did several miles of twisties on the way home. Spyder hugged the road like a bandit!

I am glad for you; however the next time your caught out in the rain, you might find difficulty with traction on your rear with that pressure. Might consider 18-20 psi in the rear; will give you much better traction when wet.

My buddy owns a tire store and we put Hankook Ventus V4 175/55r15 on the front of my 2016 RT and no issues with clearance or with nanny. You should make sure that if you buy a different size that it is a directional tire, as the siping is important for water clearance. This tire provides a better road contact footprint and slightly better ground clearance.

A much smoother ride

In Racing applications this could have a factor .... in passenger tires it doesn't have any noticeable effect on the tires performance ........... It's all HYPE ....... Mike

So so you are saying that water handling, braking performance, etc. is not better with a directional tire. You are saying that engineers when designing tires directionally for better water clearance is all a bunch of nonsense and that most informational about this topic is nonsense.

just wondering what your credentials are to make this definitive statement.

Why does BRP OEM use a directional tire?

Not trying to to start a war just want to understand how you back this up?

There is more to how a tire performs than if it has directional tread. Tire Rack has ratings for tires with wet and dry traction included.

Mr.Gazunni , I'm glad to hear you that you don't want start a War ...... If you have spent anytime on this Forum you should be well aware of My Credentials..... And engineers designed the KENDA tires for your Spyder ....... and they are " CRAP " .... this bit of information has been posted so many times by sooooo many Forum members, I'm surprised that you weren't aware of this. I'm not going to get into a Pi**ing contest with you .......... Ride whatever you like, I'm going to do the same. I offer assistance in the whole tire thing ..... I' don't demand anyone use the info ...... Ride safe - ride happy ......... Mike

I am very aware of the Kenda tire being crap. That is why they have all been removed from both of my Spyders.
What I posted was that I purchased directional car tires for my Spyder, Hankook's that have different dimensions than the OEM (and the same size as the original question that was posed) and I was simply suggesting to the originator that purchasing a directional car tire would provide better water shedding due to the directional siping. Rather than leave that statement alone, you chose to add in that it wasn't necessary, just not sure why the comment was required.
We are both on the same side of this discussion regarding NOT using Kenda's.
We can both offer our experiences without the need to have to disprove the other.
