• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yet another mounting option

As suggested by several, I removed the fuel and and temperature gauge, and replaced them with a voltmeter, and power plug. Th temperature gauge and gas gauge both seem more accurate, and I like the look with the "orange" background on the main screen. I looked for a few easy mounting places for my iPhone/GPS as I was getting the RT-S set-up, and found these two places to be the easiest. The one on the left was accessed by removing the speaker grill, and other than needing a pair of angles pliers to hold the nut it was easy to install. The other simply required a longer screw, and some small stainless washers to fill the gap between the screw and the dash.

I like this mounting place because it gives me the option of swinging the GPS/phone under the visor area to help with some of the sun glare (a bit!)

I am glad to be back on my spider. I do wish I could stop thinking of things to add, and/or ways to spend money on the machine. This board, and Lamonster have been great for ideas, having questions answered, and helping me find ways to spend my money!!!!

Is anyone going to the NE scooter/Spyder rally this weekend. I hope to meet some local Pennsylvania people to ride with. I am part of a scooter club and now that I am back on the spider was glad to see their official participation-I ro

Great ideas.

Not to hijack: but we are seeing more and more people disconnect the faulty gas gauge and putting something else in its place. Is BRP watching??????? Its time to get rid of the gas gauge and the temp gauge--since they are already built in elsewhere, and put some other gauges in that place.

Back to the thread:

As long as what they put in there is going to actually be more accurate... :gaah:
Nice job on your gauge and power plug installation! :2thumbs:

What other gauging are folks sticking in those holes??

That looks like a great solution. Where did you get the proper size 12v plate? What type of mounting for your iPhone? I have a Samsung Galaxy 11 Android. Will it fit the mounting bracket? Thanks for the help. Hope your enjoying your Seal FloorBoards.

Filling the holes!

On the left side I mounted a analog clock, on the right side I installed the Whistler Cruisemaster Radar Detecter. I drilled a 5/16" hole in the center of the BRP button on the top of the speedometer/gauge cluster and installed the radar detector warning led.

You can add me to the list of unhappy people with the RTS gas gauge. Since I am already on replacement gauge #2, I am not going to ask the dealer to fix the current one again.

I disconnected the guages and now am using the bar gauge setup that is on the bike. No idea if I will replace my gas and temp gauges with something else. It took me awhile to work up the courage to disconnect the current stuff--but I did it all in about 5 minutes.

I ordered the 2covers that come on the basic RT. the pair were $7.00 from BRP. The lighter plug is a BRP plug though any would work. It uses the wires that originally powered the gas gauge.

The floorboards are great. Vi still have to convince myself that the brake pedal will have enough travel before it hits the boards if I need to a panic stop. It seems like they will without any issues. Bis there a way to eliminate th vibration? It is not bad at all but my wife noticed it when she piloted the RT. i can live with the vibration since the boards are such a nice add on. Especially coming from a burgman motorscooter with running boards standard.
