• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Y-gaskets

I am feeling a lot of heat on the right side of the RT. It is right around knee level. The plastic gets so hot you can barley touch it after a long ride.

Would this be the Y-Gaskets going bad?

:dontknow:
How many miles on your Spyder? Most most gasket failure happen at 6 to 8 thousand miles. And usually the first sign is noise, than heat.

9000 miles and it is louder then it has been.

I would pull the right side panel [the right side usually fails first] And look for black exhaust stains around the gasket joint,
Also when the pipes are COLD start the engine and put your hand next to the gasket joint feeling for an exhaust leak, Careful the pipe gets hot quick.
If you find you need new gaskets go with the Honda Goldwing gaskets.

I spoke with the Techs at East Coast Cycle Center in Bensalem, PA about the gasket issue when I was in there on Saturday for the 600 mile check up on my new RT-S. They said they always use the Honda gaskets on the Spyders when they have to change them. (They always have them since they are also a Honda dealer)

So they're doing "gene splicing" experiments right in their shop... I wonder if BRP has figured out why they don't sell any Y-gaskets there??
