• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

XM SAT Radio

As far as the wiring harness is concerned .... I find this hard to believe ...... It is not cost effective for any vehicle manufacturer to have multiple wiring harnesses .... they are usually the same ....but not ALL features are connected .... many Spyders owners have found that they can cheaply activate CRUISE control because the wiring is there !!!!! ..... It's did-heartening dealers don't know what they are selling or care enough to check !!!!!!......... Mike

I hear you Mike, but that is what my dealer tech said and I have known him a long time. I guess I could call BRP. He said they changed the harness for the 2014s.

WIRING HARNESSES

I hear you Mike, but that is what my dealer tech said and I have known him a long time. I guess I could call BRP. He said they changed the harness for the 2014s.

:spyder2:
Sorry if I gave you the impression that all Spyders have the SAME harness .... They might change from year to year but to clarify : a 2014 RT Basic has the same wiring harness as the " S " and " LTD " models and I'm sure ALL the 2017 F-3's have exactly the same harnesses........it doesn't even matter what color they are :roflblack:............ UPDATE

So I have never taken a panel off before today, well now I have gotten all the experience. Installed entertainment harness, XM Radio, and Bluetooth dongle. None of it was too horrible, but the Bluetooth in the frunk was not fun, feed the wires where they wanted you to drill if I was to do it again it would go elsewhere.

So everything is in place, in the morning I will double check all connections and button everything, then I will pray :bowdown:to the Spyder that it all works.

BRP instructions were pretty good, with the exception of the Dongle hooking to the entertainment harness but I think I figured it out.

PS BRP says

1.5 hours to install entertainment harness

48 mins to install XM Radio

24 mins to install Dongle

It may have been worth paying the shop hour rate

Since I rarely change the channel: I don't mind not having that control at my fingertips. :D
Oh! You can also see my I-Pod sitting there next to the plug!
I did the same on my RS-S, all in the frunk with bluetooth Sena doggle to Sena 20. Love it. 50's or Blues. Not too much changing for me.

Mission Complete

All buttoned up and working, now to figure out the XM preset function. Still, have to test the blue tooth, will seek out some information from Dave was trying earlier with the dongle in my hand but could not get it to pair with my phone. Will get it sorted out I'm sure.

Thanks Bob

Thanks Bob

That was a lot of work for a Solo Rookie. Do you know if you and where you could buy the little clips that lock the mirrors in, mine are fine but I just order a lot of Tricled's and will be removing the mirrors again, would not mine haveing some extras just in case, one mine was not allowing the mirror to lock on the bottom had to take the clip out and tighten it up with some needle nose, put it back and mirror snapped right on.
