Wrong key showing on screen

Guys, on my 2018 F-3 Limited which I bought new 2 1/2 years ago, sometimes when I switch it off to get gas and use my key to unlock the fuel tank cap, then when I re-insert my key and try to start the engine, I get a key notice on my screen like I don't have the right key! I switch it off and back on a couple time and it cranks and everything seems ok. What should I check out or do I have to take it back to the dealer?

Try a different key.
Check for codes in menu of instrument cluster.
Possible DESS antenna or module failing.
Dealer time.

:agree: However is it the only key:dontknow: if another transponder closer to antenna first one read wins. Don’t forget try the spare tooopcorn: have both if/when visiting dealer if any programming is needed.

If it's DESS issue ... the " orange screen of death " will appear ... not the KEY icon .... Mike :thumbup:

Next time you get it serviced have them to get the computer to "RELEARN" BOTH Keys

My DESS code plus the Key Icon showed up the day after dealer changed tire and reset with buds. It works okay now but have concerns. I don't think it is coincidence.
