• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wrapping an RT 622 trailer

I used to have a 2013 RTS Quantum Blue Spyder with matching blue RT 622 trailer.
I traded up to a 2015 RTS Black/Silver Special Series, but kept the blue trailer.

It's long story, but I decided to have the RT 622 wrapped instead of painted to match the new Spyder.
I don't live near where Spyderlovers sponsor WrapMySpyder is located. But Pete provided me with a list of 3M certified installers local to where I live. There's one about 3 miles from my house.
Don't ask about cost. I'm embarrassed to say. :opps: Let's just say it was cheaper than buying a new trailer. The new Freedom trailers are nice, but I like my RT622 better.

I'm happy with the results and felt the need to share.

Regardless of the cost, if it makes you happy than it was a good thing. I think it looks great. Would like to see a pic with it and the Spyder together. They did a nice job. Congrats.

Thanks!

The Black/Silver Special Series Spyder comes with a Burgundy seat and Burgundy rear speaker panels. I transferred over my Ultimate seat and bought black rear speaker covers. I like the look better. In my opinion, it makes the color LED's stand out better.

If you care for the film correctly it can last up to 10 years for durability but much depends on how well you care for it. Just like everything else maintenance and care is needed.

Pete,
What are the color options? Can any BRP colors be matched or are there standard colors to choose from only?
When it comes time to change colors. How hard is the wrap to remove?

Wrap life expectancy

What is the true life expectancy of the wrap??

Cruzr joe

Here's what my installer states:

"The material has a 3 year outdoor warranty from fading. It should last 5-7 years before you see anything noticeable. Wear and tear is not warrantied. The gentler you treat it the longer it will last. Since this is a seasonal trailer you should get years and years out of it."

I only use this trailer maybe one weekend a month during the summer ryding season. It remains parked in the garage the rest of the time.

Color matching

I'll let Pete speak for himself and his offerings. But I had to choose from a standard palate of colors. The installer brought out sample colors and we picked the ones that were the closest. They can't match BRP color codes. But I was ok with "close enough".

Trends in Vinyl Wraps

The vinyl wrap industry is growing and changing at a rapid pace with no end in site. I have been a wide format printer for some 8 years now, this being my last year, as we have sold the Business. This years US Open at Chambers Bay will be the last job I do.

To get to the point, 8 years ago the wrap industry was just starting, everything was printed on 1st. generation materials. Today the printers, print material and laminations have greatly improved. Along with this is the skills of the installers. A quality install job will look like a premium paint job, and most likely last longer. Quality materials will remove easily years down the road with no damage to the original finish. All those cars running around the track on Sunday are wrapped.

Now the exciting stuff, in the last couple of years there has been a flood of pre finished wrap materials from around the world show up in the US market place. I mean hundreds of colors, textures, finishes etc. All with the glitz to grab your attention and wrap that high end vehicle. This is not the run of the mill vinyl, this stuff is meant to wrap stuff, it has all the qualities needed and it is expensive.

Take a look at the offerings from Fellers www.fellers.com a wholesale supplier to the trade. The other day I got a flyer from a start up company that offers specialty wrap materials by the foot to the industry. This is major as your installer does not have to purchase a $800.00+ roll of material to do the lid on your trailer.

Lastly, Hats off to Pete, he is doing an excellent job taking care of Spyder Lovers every ware:clap::clap::clap: Keep up the good work.
