• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wrapped my Spyder

Good eye, that is my Nomad (Glenn) The Spyder is Ann's ryde. She has probably ridden close to 15K miles on the back of the Nomad before getting the Spyder. We both got our MC endorsements about the same time in 2007. I started out on a Kawi Vulcan 900, and she had a V-Star 650. She never really got comfortable on the V-star. I sold my 900 and got the Nomad in Sept of 2008 and once I got comfortable enough riding the bigger bike, we sold hers and she rode with me. We've taken it on a trip west through Colorado and Utah, and a trip East to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. That trip ended up at the Vulcan Bagger Association national rally in Maggie Valley a week prior to last years Spyder owner event. We bought the Spyder last December and she's already put nearly 4K miles on it. We've been to Spyderfest and to a VBA rally in Van Buren AR so far this year. Next up is an epic trip to the VBA Northwestern Regional rally in Canmore (Calgary), BC. and then in Sept another get together in SW Oklahoma. We should easily rack up 10K miles each this year.

We will have to try to budget more vacation time and $$ to get together more often with our new Spyder friends next year.

Very nice job and if my eyes haven't failed me I believe I see a Kawasaki Nomad in the background of your garage as well. That was my first ride starting five years ago and now alternate ride as well. Could never give up my first love. The wife encouraged me to keep them both. What a woman.

Hi Guys just a little correction, Canmore is actually in Alberta not BC. And just a tip that little town will be very busy in summer so make sure and book your rooms ahead of time. There will be a lot of Europeans there for the hiking season, oh and enjoy the restaurants there they have some excellent ones. Sorry For the correction but this is one of my favorite places to go and relax in, I live only a few hours away from there.

:opps: So sorry - I knew that not sure why I got it wrong. Probably good that we have GPS or we'd be totally lost.
The rally is at the Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge and we are booked. We have a free day to explore with no rally rides planned. There may be some going to Jasper, but that would be a full 8 hours there and back. We probably will want to rest up a bit after 1800 miles there and may not feel like doing that ride even though I am sure it would be beautiful. Any suggestions on things we should do with our free day either in Canmore or Calgary?

if you have time and energy you really should do the Icefields Parkway Banff to Jasper it is voted as one of the 5 most scenic drives in the world by National Geographic. Lake Louise would be a easy run one hour out of Canmore great area lots to photograph. Also about an hour west of there is Field BC, just before you get there there is a turn off on the north side of the hiway that takes you up to Takaka falls I belive it is the highest in the Canadian Rockies, this would be awesome to see for the next month because of the snow pack melting and all the rain they just got the falls will be massive. If and you might because there are a lot of them there see a bear please keep your distance they are nasty animals this time of year. Have fun on your trip and welcome to Canada
