• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wrapped my 2021 RT Limited

I purchased my 2021 RTL during the Covid pandemic, so colour choice was very limited and you had to take what was available. I ended up with the Asphalt Grey Metallic which was ok, but certainly not my first choice. I always intended to get it wrapped, but somehow never got around to doing it 'til last week. I chose a really bright red called Gloss Dragon Fire Red, which is about as different from the original as you can get. I also had a carbon fibre wrap done on the mirror caps.

I picked the bike up yesterday, and am I pleased with the result. The wrapping guy told me that it was a difficult job with lots of surfaces and angles to contend with. He said the fenders were particularly challenging.

Here are some pics showing before and after the wrap

Beautiful! I am not at all familiar with wraps so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but do you have any concerns about taking panels on and off?

@ kbirdsong - the panels are individually wrapped and wrapping follows the shape of the panel so removing one shouldn’t be an issue.

@ vito 1943 - it wasn’t cheap that’s for sure. I shopped around a bit but chose a wrapper with lots of experience and positive reviews. It cost about Can $1500 and as expected, the majority of that was labour.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

That’s a lot less than a paint job!

That’s a good price Peter. I was quoted $650 Cdn/ to wrap clear Xpel on the frunk and saddlebag area, and I doubt that any panels are removed.

When I bought my 2021 RT, the only one the dealer had was in the metallic blue color (Petrol Metallic). Truthfully the color was irrelevant for me. I do keep it clean and as bug-free as I reasonably can, but beyond that it just doesn't matter. I've seen some interesting paint jobs on Spyders, and some nice wraps as well, but I doubt that I would ever spend the bucks to do it for my ride. When out riding, the color of my Spyder is pretty meaningless to me.
