• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. wrapped headers now Check Engine light comes on

Finally wrapped headers. Removed O2 sensors when I did it and replaced after wrap was done. I have the tupperware off and also the Front trunk but started bike to allow for burn off. Temp is normal but suddenly check engine light came on. Anyone have a clue as to why? is there a connection that I may have missed or one that is connected via the frunk?
Puzzled to say the least. Any help will be appreciated.

Depends...

Don't know which spyder you have. Did you remove the frunk..? Did you hook up the heat sensor on the left front...? Did you remove the header or wrap in place..? Could have disconnected something along the way if wrapped in place. Did you let it run for a while could need to reset the o2 sensor. Takes 10 min of running . Try shutting the ignition off pulling the key and let the computers reset 30 min or so. This may clear the engine light. Did you get any codes..? :dontknow:

I have 2012 RT se 5. I removed the frunk and all the tupperware. Wrapped in place and was careful not to dislodge anything. Finally got codes to come up and got p0113 and p2228. The frunk was off when I started it up today. I am not sure what heat sensor you are referring to. is it part of the frunk wiring?

I took out the O@ sensors to wrap but put them back in as soon as I wrapped. The engine temp is good. I have been reading other posts and some feel that removing the frunk causes issues, Thanks for the replay.

Hey Dan. The first code refers to the MAP sensor. It's the black plastic sensor on the left side of the throttle bodies with two rubber vacuum hoses going to the the front and rear throttle body each. Make sure you didn't do anything to that plug connection. And while you're there, replace those two rubber hoses if they haven't been already. May already have cracks in them. Need to cut the new hose to exactly the same length as the old ones - 85mm - and use 3mm ID good silicon hose.

The second code refers to the ambient temperature and pressure sensor. It's a small unnoticeable sensor up under the right side of the frunk panels. So, if you started the bike with the frunk off, then you started the bike without that sensor plugged in. The sensor hides behind a little piece of foam. So, double check those two sensor harnesses for damage and plug everything back in before starting the bike.

Neither of those two codes refer to O2 sensor, so you probably didn't cause this by removing and replacing them. Rule of thumb - don't start the machine if any harnesses are disconnected.

Thanks, I was just wanting to burn the crap off the wrap. I will replace the hoses. This is quite different from my Royal Star but I am really liking being able to ride again after back injuries and two knee replacements. Planning to have the scopes put on next. My local dealer recommends them.

It will take awhile to burn off. Button it up and ride it.
