:dontknow: Can anyone tell me why my beautiful new 2011 RT Limited Edition Spyder doesn't have an intercom hook-up? I have been riding two-up with my husband on his GoldWing and have enjoyed this feature. I have already spent a good chunk of change and they are telling me that I need to spend another $1,000 to acquire this feature. ALSO...after the first 200 miles I am finding that I would like highway pegs on my Spyder...anybody have any suggestions?

:welcome:it sounds like you'll have to spend the money if you want the intercom. There are several site sponsors that sell highway pegs/floorboards you can find them on the homepage.

:welcome: I have no answer on your 11 but as for the hiway brackets I ordered from kewl metal. It took a long time to get them and when they finally arrived I had to drill out the holes to get the bolts through. Good luck on your decision and have fun, we have and ryde safe. Bill

:welcome: I am sorry your salesman neglected to tell you up front that the intercom/CB is optional. That is well explained on the BRP Website and in their brochures. There are other alternatives, both wired and wireless. The Starcom1, Baehr, and Autocom wired units work well. The Sena and Cardo bluetooth wireless units get good reviews here, too. Can't help you with highway pegs, since I don't use them, but consider the various footboards available as an alternative. Lots of people here like those better.

There are a lot of threads on this forum concerning the BRP comm system. Requires you purchase the BRP headsets and entertainment cable harness. I may be wrong but I think it also requires the CB unit. I bypassed the whole thing and went with a Bluetooth headset. There are several systems that are very good and have great reviews. I would just search the threads and make your own dicision.

I have that feature on my 2010 RT-S I don't need it but it is there.
You could go the way of two Integrated Bluetooth helmets I use one for my GPS so I can hear directions in noisy conditions without wires to contend with...

You actually need more. It also requires the Entertainment Harness and helmet comm sets. If I remember right, the Goldwing comm sets can be used with the proper adapter.

:welcome: I have the Cardo multset system for my wife and i plus link to inphone etc.. It works great for us.. Friends have Sena and seem to love it.. Lots of options to BRP high priced approach

Do a search for "Phil's Mods". This system taps into the rear speaker wires and runs through a line-level converter to a Bluetooth transmitter. This system allows everything coming through the Spyder's audio system, including a GPS if attached, to be transmitted to any Blutooth helmet.
I used the LOC-80 converter, and a BluBridge transmitter, and the system works well. :2thumbs:

If you decide to go with the BRP CB and Com system then the only change with your GW helmet com will be to change the lower cord.The Spyder RT and Victory Vison both use the same lower cord.
