• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Won't start

Just finished installing quite a few lighting upgrades. I started the spyder after each one and again at the final. I started to button everything up and started it for just a second, I may have shut it down before the start up dash sequence finished.
Now it won't start, the rear solenoid just clicks. It won't do the start up dash thing either. It will after I press the M button and try starting it a few times. It seems that the dash pod is just plain acting weird. I let it sit for about 15 mins and it popped but did not start.

I am lost here, does it just need to reset itself? Did I maybe damage something? Or do I need to start tracing my new wires?

I put it on the Tender after I gave up on it. I will give it a go in the morning.

Okay Dudley, you got me off the couch. It was on the charger for about 3 hours. Got it to fire up. I am sure after the battery gets back to 100% it will be fine.

Thanks to you I will be able to sleep tonight, Thanks.

More knowledgable spyderlovers

Hey Blue,
I absolutely have no idea if this will work or not but sometimes you can reset the Spyder by turning the key on and off 3 times fast. Probably best to get some more knowledgeable spyderlovers for input first. Don't fret! You'll get it taken care of soon I'm sure.

Lots of lights, testing the lights, then starting the bike multiple times. You're lucky your battery didn't report you to B.A.P. (Battery Abuse Police)! :yikes:

This is true, throw in the fact that when started each time it never ran long.

It fired right up this morning, green light on the Tender. Should be fine.

I added the front Bright Sides and the Mud Flap leds. Those are so awesome they should be stock in my opinion.

(Also added HID's, Feder tip LED's with signals, Brake wake up flasher, rear rack with backrest, and touring windshield).

Come on Spring!

Gentlemen, I don't wish to start a rant, and I am the first to say I am no wrench. One thing I do is hook pigtails to my scoot batteries and plug in a Battery Tender (or the $20 Wal-Mart Schumacher) 24/7. When I quit for the day (and sometimes several days) riding, I plug it in. I change out my batteries every 3 to 3.5 years, whether they need it or not. I do this on my four wheel vehicles also and plug in a BT for 24 hours or so every week or so.

Several weeks ago, I hit the Wing starter....0, nada, nothing. I said a bad word...okay several bad words. Called a buddy and he said tighten the terminals, they will work loose once in a while. I did and away it went. I learned something that day.

This is not what all will agree with, but it works for me. Rant over.
