• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok I need help. I turn the key on and nothing, no read out what so ever. Had the battery checked it's fine. checked all the fuses in the front and under the seat. Any suggestions other that setting it on fire. I checked the kill switch, made sure it was not in gear. Pulged and re-pluged everthing I could find.:dontknow: And no it's no afraid of me. Like I stated eariler I just moved from Colorado and when it was loaded in the truck it was working just fine. Got to Az and tried to start it. NADA!

sounds like a trip to the dealer may be in order unless you have the service
manual and an ohm meter/voltage tester to do point to point continuity testsnojoke

The spyder has developed Porboy syndrome. It is completely afraid of you...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

seriously now... something came loose somewhere. Needle in a haystack situation..

The battery might be good but the current isn't getting past the battery.
Sounds to me that you have a ground wire off back bye the battery.

Do you still have the Colorado air in the tires try changing to Arizona air.:joke:

Stupid question.

How many different wires go to the positive and how many to the neg on the battery?
I remember to for the neg but not two for the pos. Anyone remember? Thanks

Does it fire at all? if it does and it's been sitting a longtime, you may want to change out the old gas for new. Unless you have added about an ounce of stabelizer to a full tank. Depending on the brand on stabelizer, some are good for a year.

The gas in my boat is two years old and it runs great. Was out last week to burn up some old, so I could get some new gas in. Needless to say these new Honda O/B are don't use much gas and the guage bearly moved off full.

Nothing, I turn the key and no display, nothing.. Do you remember if there are two cables connected to the pos + part of the battery?

Try pressing the button behind the throttle or turn on the 4 ways, you do not need the key to do this If your head lights or 4 ways don't turn on most likely it's a ground wire at the battery, Was the battery removed in shipping.? Sold a bike once the shipping Co. would not take it on their truck unless the tank was drained and the battery was disconnected.

Tried everything listed. Thanks but no luck. stopped buy the dealet, told him the story, he said that's pretty much what they woud check. Said for 95.00 an hour they would check it out.:yikes: It has to be some stupid little thing. As far as the three square fuses in the front , is there a was to test them. I guess there fuses.:dontknow:

It shouldnt be the key. Even with a bad key, it will light up the dash.

Sounds to me like the main fuse or fusible link (I ashamedly must admit I dont know where that is on this bike yet:opps:) Either that or as you stated a broken wire or disconnected wire. Check for voltage at the jumper points under the seat just for giggles and see if you have power there.

Thanks I'll try anything.....Ok I have every plastic piece off the bike and I think I've checked every connection possible. Still nothing. Guess IT'S GOING TO THE SHOP AND THEN UP FOR SALE!:gaah:I can't stand things that don't work they way they should...Plus it only has about 2,000 miles on it. 2008 but still.

Have you checked connections with either a voltmeter or ohm meter?
If you have a meter, start at the battery terminals and make sure you have 12 volts. If you do, leave the positive lead on the battery, and start moving the negative lead downline to the next "intersection" or connection. If you get on the other side of a fuse or relay thats supposed to be "continous" and you lose the 12 volts, then youve found your problem area.

Sorry to here of your issue.
Had a friend help me add some electrical mods, which turned out to be bad for me.

I jumped the gun & found this short detector.(http://www.powerprobe.com/powerprobe/ECT2000.html

It did find the short as they said it would, but also if I would have been a little more patient, probably would have eventually found it.

No regrets on the purchase as it will work on the cages also if needed.

Thanks guys, still moving from colorado and the last to go back and get is all the garage stuff, tools, meters etc. Maybe I'll just set on it until I make my last hall. It's got to be something simple stupid. I do appreciate all the feed back. You guys are great:thumbup:
