• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wobbling wobble in front wheels..... ugh...

Can't seem to get this to go away. Both fenders in the front shake at various speeds... but not all the time.

Tried:

New rims with new tires, professionally balanced. OEM tires.

Didn't help.

Put RideOn in those and things were MUCH better.

The problem happens at different speeds and under different road conditions. Some roads are worse than others, some speeds are worse than others.

Anyone else have this and find a fix?

Yeah.. that's why I tried new tires.....

I'm now thinking of trying some other brand of tires instead of the OEM Kendas.

Any recommendations?

You might want to PM "Rnet" about front tires. He sells them, and seems to have some pretty specific opinions about just what's available.
I'll probably stay with the OEMs up front; they look good, and still have loads of life left in them.
But out back; I'm having a Kumho installed this Friday!

Good point!
Here I was figuring that the 'Fly would have checked the wheels first; having had an "incident" on a Spyder... :opps:

Did you check the rims for runout...both lateral and axial?

Only visually.

I have a dial indicator I can break out and use I guess.... I just figured if it was small enough that you couldn't see it by eye that you wouldn't notice it on the ride.

Two sets of rims - same problem.

Was told my original set of tires were cupped... but I'm not seeing it.

Seriously considering different brand of tires if the rims check out... and you know how I feel about messing with other tires.... but I gotta get this resolved!

If the rims check out and before you go for new tires try backing off on your shock spring tension 10%. Just a suggestion because I have Elka's and have noticed that my fenders tend to bounce/vibrate more than they ever did with the stock shocks. FWIW

Okay... but did your handlebars wobble a bit too?

You know, I'm not sure I ever noticed this wobble prior to installing the new sway bar down at SpyderFest. I know we didn't back off the Elka's at all.
Maybe the Elka's extra pressure is amplifying the wobble. I'll back them off a bit and see how they do.

Did you happen to also do the shock relocation kit?

I know when I moved my shocks up (without the kit...) things got real twitchy until I backed off my preload and rebound a good deal.
