There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Witnessed a motorcycle accident today

At lunch today, I was walking into a store when I saw this poor guy crash. He was turning in and misjudged his speed. He hit the curb and went flying. He hit his head, hip and knee. He was dazed by the crash. Fortunately, there was a cop nearby and had an ambulance there in five minutes. He had on a helmet, jacket and gloves, but nothing else. So his knee and hip got it bad. The helmet likely saved his life. His bike was leaking antifreeze and the faring was torn off. He was not going real fast, perhaps 20 mph. It’s amazing how much damage can be done at such a slow speed.

A good example for wearing the proper gear at all times. Unfortunately, we cannot pick and choose when or where an accident will happen.

Motorcycles seem to come with a built in ejection seat, making the landing after the crash something to consider.

Let's face it: If we actually had the power to pick the time and circumstances of our big crash...

...We'd probably waste it on picking the winning PowerBall tickets anyway! :D

Years ago a friend was killed doing 20 mph in a parking lot. Hit a curb and landed on his head with no helmet on. We couldn't keep him alive, even as we could hear the ambulance coming. Always plan for the unplanned.

Ouch..!!

I have had a few slow mishaps and have to say...not always the speed but the way you fall...hope he recoops well...

I have scraped up helmets and torn armored gear to show why I merely got up and walked away from a low side instead of needing skin grafts and skull burr holes. I made a commitment to my worried family that I would do everything I could to mitigate and practice risk management while riding. I focus on visibility with lighting and hi viz gear, and always always wear the best armored gear I can afford.
Including: I live in the deep south...if it's too hot to wear my gear, it's too hot to ride. If I'm too tired or emotionally skewed to ride, I don't ride.

Hope he recovers well...
