The Loran Station at Cape Blanco was our Northern slave when I was at a double master at Point Arena summer of 1967 to discharge on Jan 3rd 1969. This was a bucket list ride on the trike to do highway 1 and 101 all the way to Raymond Wa. Also included have dinner in Madera Ca with a lady I dated 55 years ago. Hit the dog at Blythe, was NOT part of the planned ride.

Bean pole in the center of the crew picture.

Great Pictures, would be great to have the Camaro today. I remember the Loran at Cape Blanco, in fact I remember the Loran/remains of it at Port Orford Heads. I also remember the Gap Filler Radar that was farther out past the Heads Coast Guard Station. That old Coast Station is now an Oregon State Park, and I lived in the Officers Residence from 2010 till I retired in 2018.

Well took the Spyder to Burlington Can Am dealer to get the estimate for my insurance claim. Glad I trailered it up there as it rained pretty hard. Insurance adjuster is going to dealer next Friday to lay out a plan of repair.

So the repair bill is around $2K in parts and $1500 in labor. Insurance company is issuing them a check for $3422.73, and I pay the $125 deductible to them when I get it back.

Wishing you the best with your repair. Sometimes getting all the parts and work done can be time consuming and a pita. Hope it goes smoothly for you. Been following your saga since the beginning. I have "commuted" from AZ to the PNW and back on bikes/trikes more than a dozen times. I will be following in your footsteps in another few weeks except this year it will be in my drop-top. It's always a fun trip with something new to do/see each time.

You haven't missed much since you left here. Temperatures have been in the low 100s every day. No monsoons yet. Lots of brush fires.....Seems like more than usual. The 87 to Payson has been closed off and on due to fires for the last few days. One of the fires last week came very close to the Salt River wild horse heard but they came out OK. Have a good summer and stay safe..... Jim

Thanks, my lady friend has been keeping me up to date on the weather down there, and I saw a post on FB about the Bush Highway fire. We ride that all the time going to Fountain Hills. Saw more wild horses this last winter than any of our earlier years down there. I like the segment for Usery Pass to the Saguaro Lake.

Spyder came home today!

I took the Spyder in on May 23rd or 24th and today it came home. Final bill was $5525 and my deductible was $125. The panels that had to be painted match really well.

So glad to hear your Spyder is fixed and back home. I'm on my 23rd day of a road trip and currently in eastern Utah. I stayed near you in Mt Vernon for 5 days visiting friends. Originally was going to go over the North Cascade Hwy but the road was closed due to fires. Heading over Stevens pass was ugly. I don't recommend it. It took me more than 2 hours to go 20 miles in the Snohomish/Monroe area. Lots of smoke in the Chelan region but no road closures there (that I encountered). Dragging my heels and going slow back to the Arizona oven. Enjoy your summer... Jim

Traffic on Stevens Pass can be a bear.

My new lady friend arrived July 5th and is staying to go back with me via Moab for three days riding in the SxS end of September. She is from my AZ RV resort.

Glad you made it home safely. I had the exact same thing happen to me only the dog was German Short Hair. Had to replace the left front fender, hood, nose piece a chrome wing, maybe some other pieces. I can't remember now. About $3500 back in 2017. I really enjoyed your pictures and the trip down memory lane. BTW how did meeting the old girlfriend go? 55 years is a lot of time to catch up on.

I can sum it up with the fact that I did not take a picture of us together at dinner. She was 7 years younger and looked 10 or 15 years older than me! I will have to just remember the good time summer of 1969!
