Thank you! It did go well! I also replaced my cheap Chinese battery with a Yuasa (Drag Performance which is a relabeled Yuasa). Since the surgery, I have not had a single complaint from the nanny about my transmission.

A little late, but just I saw this and wanted to say that I too had check engine pictures, and scrolling love notes about the tranny every time I shifted into reverse and every time I downshifted. I gave up downshifting, and almost always played games getting reverse to shift. I tried a few different things, then finally broke down and bought the assembly. I just put it on this weekend, which went pretty well; only fishing that darn connector pod down thru where it looks like it will surely not fit was the worst part of it! YAY! Rode to work today with good reverse response, no love notes, and no Check Engine pictures!! I saved the old one to take apart and look at.
