I just had a disastrous wiring problem occur. I was riding about 90 miles from home and my 2011 RT-S died on me. I went into a store and when I came out and turned the key - nothing! Gauges didn't move and the multi-function display did not light up. The parking brake would not disengage. Strangely, the bike would start, however. A 25 amp had blown. Fortunately, there was a spare. Swapped the fuses and turned the key while trying to release the the parking brake. It did release, but the new fuse blew too. I was able to limp to a dealer about 15 miles away in first gear only (electronic transmission must have been the blown circuit). I left the bike and they found the problem after a week and 5+ hrs of labor. A part of the wiring loom had somehow worked free and fell onto the exhaust on the left side of the bike, melting the wire's insulation. That produced the short that blew the fuses. Needless to say, I was pretty happy the shop found the issue and fixed it. They assured me that this was fluke and should not ever happen again. Just posting this so those who like to remove the tupperware have something else to look at.
