• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wiring a USB plug to replace GPS mount - any cautions?

Hello,
I am new to owning a spyder. I have a 2012 Spyder RT that came with a gps already wired in. I am going to take off the gps mount and replace it with a phone mount. I was wondering if I could use the preexisting wiring for the gps and reroute it to the USB plug in, instead of wiring it to the digital dash like I’ve seen done. I am assuming it would have the same functionality since the gps starts up when the bike is turned on, but I just haven’t seen it done. Any cautions or things to consider before starting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I WOULDN'T ...... I would sell the mount and cable (and gps if you have it), somebody might want it. then just wire a USB. the cable is a multi wire system, you would have to find out which is hot and ground
