• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know it has been a long winter for many in the northeast, but myself, Deanna, my daughter and friends have enjoyed some awesome snowmobiling here in Vermont! These are some of the pictures that I took with some of the scenes throughout the snowmobile season this winter. Enjoy!

Very nice pictures and maybe I passed you on the trail this winter, as I rode 3400 miles on my 2018 Ski-Doo Enduro 1200 4 stroke from my house in central NH this winter to your wonderful State.
I also groom trails for our Snowmobile Club too.
Can not wait to get out my 2016 RT Limited and take a ride over to VT.

Maybe we will see you on the road. I ride out to the NEK on my F3 now and then.
 
The snow is SLOWWW going ,may be able to get the bike out in May some time.These pics were done on April the 10th.

Nice, love the Blizzard model. Disappointed they no longer offer it. We're also a fan of the CSS lights.
 
We had a shorter season here in Wisconsin as only February was excellent with plenty of snow and cold. I didn't take that many pictures this year as I've been collecting video with my GoPro to share. Pictured is my current Winter Ride, BRP's Ski Doo Blizzard. It has the 900 ACE engine that is also popular in the current Rykers. The snowmobile application produces 90 horsepower which will move you along just shy of 100 mph depending on conditions.

As a footnote, I've been asked, "why would you want to go out in the cold and do this?" My answer is always, if I'm going to live in a climate that can vary from 100 in the summer to -45 in the Winter I'm going to make the most of it. It keeps me active and gives me something to engage during the long winter months. Also the gear that we wear is outstanding for maintaining body warmth and protection from the elements.

To me this is the perfect area of the country to live. The Spyder and sledding are two major reasons. Sledding makes the winter fly, these pictures are already making think of the upcoming season. As long as you're dressed for it it's a great sport. You see and experience areas other wise inaccessible. If you don't enjoy sledding you've either never tried it or can't do the cold.

Nice videos! We also wear the clothing that keeps us warm. The heated jackets make a difference in real cold climates. Like you said, snowmobiling keeps us active during the winter months.:thumbup:
 
Yeah, it was a great winter for snowmobiling in VT! I rode a new Polaris XC 129 600 which has been a great sled. My wife has a 900 Ace GSX. It's OK too. I personally don't care for the power delivery on the 900 Ace....in the snowmobile application anyway. In Sport mode when it's in its power band between 30-65 mph it has great power. Low end is pretty doggy. High end is OK but after 65-70 it begins to fall flat pretty quick. Top speed is 92 mph. I don't know how anyone could ride it in ECO mode. ECO just doesn't seem practical in a snowmobile. Gas mileage on it is great for a sled. I'd like to try a 900 Ace turbo but the new G4 Ski Doo chassis isn't for me. Doesn't handle very well and the seating position is weird. That's a couple of reasons I bought the Polaris. Liked the handling and seating position better.

I'll have to ride a 900 Ryker to see how the 900 Ace feels in that compared to the snowmobile.
