Winter shelter

Anyone have any experience with a winter shelter. By that I mean something that can be put up when winter begins and taken down again the fall but could be opened at anytime. no experience with that type of shelter but it looks like only a temporary setup, would be concerned about heat and cold and access by critters.

I look at such shelters as better than nothing at all. You have to consider winds and snow load issues. Neighbor down the road had his blown over and the HD's sat in the snow all winter long last year.
