There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshields heights

Ok, Ive been looking at windshields. I've seen terms like 23", 25", 3" shorter than stock, etc. My question is what is stock height :dontknow: I know that I can just see over the stock one in the lowest position, so I'm trying to find something a little lower than that.

Accessory Catalog

If I'm reading the 2014 accessory catalog correctly, stock height is 25'', part 219800199.

sorry that May be for the 11 and 12, anyone else help?

Stock is 25". I had my 2013 changed out with the 23" and vent and I love it (I am 5' 7")!!!
Swapping out is easy. Just be careful removing the front covers (don't use a flat head screwdriver since you can scrape the windshield and you may want to sell it). If you remove the screws in the back, the covers should move right out, or use a piece of paper to wedge between the windshield and cover. After that, just remove the 4 screws, swap windshields and place the covers back.

As said, very easy to do your self. One trick, slide a piece of paper under the bottom point of the trim piece, then remove the screws from inside and slide the trim down an away. This prevents the trim from scratching the windscreen. The first time you do it you may want a second set of hands while you get the 4 screws out that hold the screen to the frame just so you can don't loose it when taking out he last screw. I do it by myself all the time FYI

2010s had a 27" behemouth. There may be several of them still lurking...
At 5'10"; I have no trouble looking over the top of the stock 25" screen; however, my butt is pretty well-padded! :opps:
When a screen is mentioned as being 3" lower than stock; it doesn't hurt to ask if they're referrring to a 2010, or a later version screen...

I don't have a problem seeing over the top of the screen when it is at it's low point (5'10 also), it's just that I would like a little more margin there to get some more air flow. If I had to guess, I's say a screen about 1 1/2 " lower would be fine as a compromise, but the only way I can get that is to cut one. :yikes: So I figured put on a 3" lower one for the summer, then put the original back on in the fall.

Steve, I replaced my windshield with a 25" from:
http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/SpyderRTprod.html

They also have shorter models available.

Send me a PM sometime if you want to get together to see the differences.

So you're saying, if the stock height is 25", that maybe I should simply replace it with the vented 25" just to get more air flow and leave the height alone. :dontknow: As I look over the top of the stock one, the top of the windshield "touches" the pavement about 20 ft out ahead of the bike.
