There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Windshield thread for vertically challenged

Hello all. Yes, I know this subject has been beaten down however, from all the post I have seen, most have discussed windshields for regular height riders. My wife, however, is all of about 4' 12. Lately, she has been saying that the wind on her F3 S is getting to be a bit unbearable. I installed the gauge spoiler shield thinking that would be more than enough (I guess I must have envisioned that she is short enough that that the tank would provide enough of a buffer ;)). Although I would love to keep the sporty low profile look, I am thinking of the Route 129 shield. Was just wondering if anyone who is in her height bracket has had any experience with that shield...or could recommend another one. We're planning a nice long ride to Norfolk, VA this weekend so I would like to pull the trigger on one as soon as possible.

Thanks!

I have the Route 129 on my F3 but at 5'10 I'm a little taller than your wife. :)

When on the highway I do get a fair bit of buffeting from the neck on up, so my guess is that she'll feel a little bit of buffeting around her head.

The Blue Ridge should be enough for shorter riders. If that doesn't do it you can add the x-creen to that. There are a few after market shields but they tend to be huge and maybe over kill for her.

It absolutely depends on whether she likes to look through or over the screen.

my husbands f3s has the blueridge with xscreen and I at 5'4" definitely look 'through', which I don't like, but for him it's fine.

This info may or may not help.... Hope it does

Thanks for the replies. I decided to go ahead and order the Route 129 from a local dealer. They are going to put a rush on it so it should be here as soon as today. The 200 mile trip to Norfolk should be a good road test for it. Will post back

hope the 129 is tall enough, I am 5'4" and the Blueridge was not tall enough for me.

Same here. I am not so much concerned if the 129 it will be tall enough...but hopefully just enough to buffer some of the air. She also rides a sport bike (Yamaha R6) so she is used to having some air hitting her. Heading to the dealership shop to pick up it and will have it installed by this evening. Will give my impressions after the ride. 400 miles should be MORE than enough of a road test to give a yay or nay.
