• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi!

I'm asking again! :opps::opps:

The windshield of my RT ltd 2011 has a lot of lateral play. What do you think should I review?

Thank you very much!

If you remove it: you should be able to get a close look at the pivot points that adjust it's height...
Assuming that the screws that hold it to the frame were tight: that would be the next place to look.
Good luck!

I concur with Bob - removing the windshield and windshield support and examining the pivot points is relatively easy and the right place to start. If they are loose, digging down to their connection points underneath involves removing the mirrors, front cowling (over the headlights) and the upper console and is a bit more involved. Then again, ... it ultimately comes down to removing one screw after another!

How many miles?

Got 30K out of mine before the arm cracked.

At the end I'll find a little time to revise this problem. Say in advance that by the momment everything remains the same.

I dissasembled all the panels, mirrors etc. and arrived to the place where the central lever is attached.
All screws were lose and I thightened them. (lever axis and all the plastic cover ones)
The central lever seems not have movement but yes the two levers from above.
They have a screew with a nut that I can't tighten more without preven totally the movement. That is on the low part.
On the upper part they have pins and the levers not seem to have friction bearings. Is here where I can see the mov.
There are an space between the lever and the windscreen attachment. I'm thinking about insert some washer avoiding lateral displacement but I don't know if that will avoid up and down and solve the problem.

Be continue. ;-)

I had the same issue ..... I made some shims ( washers ) from thin plastic ... the type of stuff they make margarine or cottage cheese containers from ..... I have a cheap set of hole cutters and used them to make the shims ..... I put one on both ends of all the windshield brackets, since they are more slippery than the metal ones ( don't remove them tho ) having them tight has not been an issue and my windshield moves Less ( sideways ) be advised it cannot be totally removed there are too many joints with too little surface to counteract the forces exerted ....... Saturday following the BLUEKNIGHT911 advice I added some washers between the attachements points of the screen and the levers of subjection. The movement has diminished, although it still moves, but now it does not strike when stepping on a bump.
I made my washers by hand, starting from an old notebook plastic cover and using sewing scissors to cut. Please do not ask for pictures. !!!! My washers are very similar to the donuts my grandmother used to make.!!! :yikes:

Thank you very much.
