• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT, is anyone having problems with the frame that holds the windshield? On my RT the screws for the T barrel which is made of brass, screws shear off.:(:banghead:

I just had mine apart a few days ago and didn't see any issues. Do you raise/lower your windshield a lot? I keep mine in the down position at all times, except to raise it when I wash the RT. I can tell you it's a very, very tight fit. In fact, using a Dremel, I reamed out all three holes just a bit, so I could get the brass barrels to slide back in without having to be forced. I understand the need for zero tolerance on clearance, but they should not have made them to have to be hammered back in. I can see where that would cause issues, which is why I corrected mine.

I know Bif Dawg hasn't replied yet, but I was driving 45 mph and the windscreen dropped with a major thud as the bolt in the center location fell out. A real eye opener at a nice rate of speed when you don't see anything but the screen drop and flop back and forth in the wind.

What sort of shape are your roads in? :dontknow: After having the center strut on mine bust after hitting a MAGNUM-CALIBER pothole ; I've decided to keep the screen "just off" of the stops at the bottom of it's travel. There have been quite a few reports of that strut breaking... I'm hoping that leaving a little bit of "wiggle-room" will prevent problems.

I've heard about that work-aound, but I don't want to have to remember to never leave the windshield at the bottom; also, I like the wind in my face as much as possible. I figure if it breaks, then it'll be replaced by my 2+2 warranty, then I can engage BRP as to a real issue; as I don't even use the up/down feature when I'm on the road. I only use it sometimes when I wash the RT, if I can't reach a certain area I need to get to.

The only problem with your I'll replace it if it breaks theory is what happens when it breaks while you are on a trip? Mine did that 3 days into a 6 week long trip. Duct tape and bungee cords kept it from flopping around for two weeks until I could get to a dealer to have it replaced. It looked like crap and wasn't very effective. Since then I keep mine about 1/2" up from the bottom.

I did have one screw head shear off, but that was when I was dismantling it for installing the tri axis handle bars. I have not had one do that from riding.
