• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I was on a ride the other day getting on the highway and the windshield adjustment arm that attaches to the windshield motor broke. It looks like it has been crack for a while. Has this happened to anyone else/is it a common issue? I already ordered a replacement part that is a beefer replacement part. I have a 2010 RT SM5 with just over 20k mile on it.

Contact "noboot". He makes a really slick stainless steel replacement strut that you'll NEVER have to replace!

To the OP, chaz7771931 in answer to part of your question, YES, the original stock arms broke routinely, that's why noboot and others have made replacements.

Can you give a link to the seller / ad, please?

Send a Private Message (PM) to the user here called Noboot - he's actually in Australia but he can send a replacement billet arm & the bits necessary to remove the broken OE arm & fit the new arm fairly quickly. Check out the pic below

the ride

a few months ago , a fellow rider mentioned that when one rides the spyder , and the windshield is down , go all the way down and take it up just a touch , get it off the lowest setting , as the way the front end seems too bounce around I guess is what breaks the mounts ? or a birds strike ( or swarm of wild hornets :yikes: ) thanks for the updates on the location of the new replacement part in the previous post above

Is this a stock windshield or after-market? I'm wondering why it broke...

Thanks.

Common issue on 2010's. And don't ride the bottom of the adjustment also a helpful piece of advice. Been lucky so far on both my 2010 and 2011 RT's.

BROKEN ARM

In 2014 after buying my RT , this was my first Mod because I was already well aware ( thinks to the Forum ) that the ARM has a significant Breakage rate ........ However I had to build my own ( No Arm available from No-Boots yet ) ... I put two 20 ga. metal sidepieces and then wrapped the Arm with a 20ga strap and welded it all together.... It's NEVER going to break ...... I will admit that His is a work of Art, but you can't really see it :dontknow: .... so I'm happy with mine .... Mike
