• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshiedl removal

I would like to remove the windshield so I can paint the bracket. How easy is it to remove the windshield and does anybody have directions on how to do it. Thanks in advance. I have a 2013 RTS

Removing it is pretty easy. You will want to raise the windshield up to the point where you can get to the bolts/screws on the backside of the windshield, remove one each side. On our 2013 Limited the cover is chrome, sorry don't recall if it is black or chrome on other models, but take a piece of paper and slide it up under the bottom of the cover, then gently slide the cover up towards the top of the windshield, there is a little lip that holds the top onto the windshield, I say that so you don't pry it off, it comes off with ease although it could be tight, just take it easy. Once you do that, there are four bolts exposed, remove them, the windshield comes off. If you want to remove the windshield bracket, there are three bolts there.

Overall the piece to be careful is with the chrome holds, those will scratch the windshield if you are not careful, I have found it to be one of the easiest things to do on a Spyder.

Yea, another winter farkle for my '13 RTL, don't you just HATE that aluminum looking bracket against the black dash. Doesn't matter whether you have the chrome or black covers, the off color aluminum grey bracket shouldn't have ever been done. I've seen many (hardly noticeable) black brackets, why aren't they all that way....

I saw a Blue 2016 and the bracket was black, that is where I got the idea to paint mine. The black will look a lot better with my Red Spyder. Thank you. This will be 1 of my Winter projects.

Dave, do you happen to have any pics for that right hand side grill and maybe some part numbers? That is another thing I want to do to mine.
