There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Will the iPod/iPhone Connector let me play music from my phone?

Will the sound system on my 2013 RT-S integrate and play music from my phone as it will from a simple IPod? Would like to confirm before purchasing the adapter so it will fit the plugs on the newer phones.

Thanks.

Just to clarify.... If it's the same as the 2014 setup, then there are two connector options that plug into the rear trunk, which is where I am assuming you are talking about. There is an older 30 pin style Apple connector and a 3.5mm connector. There is presently no lightning connector available from BRP. So if your iPhone is the Lightning connector you can simply use the headphone jack of your phone.

Did you have something else in mind?

I got a lightning to 25 pin adapter. You need to get one that is "charge and sync". The cheap ones are charge only and won't work.
I got my official Apple cable from Amazon.
I use it to listen to music and my GPS on the phone (Mapquest). All comes through the speakers. I have a 2014 RTSS from Cowtown, USA.

I use the official Apple lightning adaptor for my Iphone 6Plus and it works great for music and charging; handlebar control does allow me to reverse or skip to next song.

If you use the 3.5mm earphone jack you will NOT get all the control of your Ipod on the dash.
To get full control you must use the Apple cable and 32-lightening adapter if needed.

Just a tip from me. After using my phone for a while I just decided to buy a used iPod touch 4th Gen on Ebay for $50.
Thus it is dedicated and always there. No messing about with plugging and unplugging.
Another tip is you can update it with iTunes via Wifi if you have Wifi at home.
My Wifi reaches to the Garage so when parked I can easily update songs without touching it.

My 2013 RT-S came with two cords for an iPod, neither one will connect to my Touch 4. What kind of connector do I need to hook up my iPod? Can I download songs from the computer directly to the iPod without using iTunes? I have over 2,000 songs on my computer I would like to transfer to the iPod...

Do you have a newer iPod, with the Lightning connector? If so, you need the adapter that has been discussed earlier.
As far as stuffing music into an iPod, I normally just copy music from my CDs into the iTunes program, and then it puts them into my little "Saltine Cracker"... :D

Apple sells a Lightning to 30 pin Adaptor. If you attach the BRP supplied-30pin cable to the (Apple L-30pin adaptor) to your iPhone 5 or later models, you will be able to listen to your SXM, Pandora, iTunes.

I bought a Lightning adapter, and it seems to fit ok, but now I can't get the right window to come up on the screen that shows that the iPod is connected. What steps do you go through to get it to come up? By the way I have a 2013 RT-S.

Is your adapter from Apple? There have been numerous reports of the aftermarket adapters not doing what they are supposed to do... nojoke

Bob, yes, it is the adapter from Apple. I'm still working on it. Thanks Bob and others who were kind enough to answer my dumb questions...

Thanks.

I am using a de-activated i5s phone on my 2015 RT as an iPod. It works just as good as an iPod touch.

I found an old iPod laying around and hooked it. All works seamlessly with the BRP-supplied cable. I can control the iPod from the handlebar controls. I've also seen on YouTube folks using a bluetooth wireless adapter that broadcasts to FM frequencies and then just tune the Spyder built-in radio to that frequency to listen away. That will be the next thing for me to try.
