Will The E-Break Engage at HWY Speed?

We were running down the highway the other day and I had gloves on. It was pretty cool that day. I went to hit the high heat for my grips and almost pressed the parking break button. Is there a safety built in to keep that from engaging at higher speeds? If so, does anyone know at what speed it is disabled. I looked down at the last minute just before depressing it. Kind of scared me as to what could've happened.

My understanding is that the electric brake will not engage if you are traveling at more than 5 MPH.

It won't be a bad idea if a spring loaded guard is installed on top of the e brake sw. This will prevent accidental issue.

That is good to hear they engineered a threshold speed to deactivate the brake. Does anyone know if the front compartment release is also deactivated above 5 mph? :dontknow:

I think you're right about the wind... I've driven around with the frunk lid unlatched (inadvertently) and it never popped forward (even on moderate braking). But I've never tried it either.... the discussion about the parking brake made me think about the frunk lid... I'd try it but I think my ryding season just ended this morning (at least it looks like we'll have a white Christmas).

Not that I know. I have accidentally popped mine, but I don't know at what speed. All I know was that it was open when I parked. I have gotten into the habit of checking it before I wander away. The wind andf gravity hold it down just fine. That's probably why there is no warning for that one.

I have done hard stops and tight turns...it doesn't even wiggle.
