• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

will someone put up some positive stories about the spyder

thanks

best thread I've read to date...thanks for the positive thoughts

I'll keep a stiff upper lip....

music for you.......

Right at 7,000 miles on a 2013RTL and no problems

We have had a lot of fun with ours, pulling the trailer for tent camping trips at the coast. I went to Eureka this summer for Spyders in the Redwoods, went to Yosemite, Kings Canyon with no problems, a lot of spectator questions.
I do the usual routine checks, add a little oil once in a while, and it runs great.

Well two Spyders

this doomsday stuff is wearing me out..

what modifications did you make to deal with it

My 2012 has less than 100 miles on it...due to no time to ride..

I work 24 / 7

It is for sale as is my Royal Enfield and my basket case K75..

I would like to experience this machine..

both RT Ltds, in about 30 months and 11000 miles with not a moment of problem. But I really do not see this as "positive", I see it as normal!

But I agree the Negative Nellies are wearing me out.

My wife never would have gone out and earned her motorcycle license -and ride with me - if not for the Spyder. It is an innovative machine that brings a smile to her face whenever she rides. Hence my desire to rectify the fuel smell.... she wants to keep riding for years to come.

:agree: My wife tried the two wheled bike but she gave up. The Spyder got het out on the road riding her own bike. She is on her second Spyder and she absolutely loves it.

The Spyder was the most fun I ever had on two or three wheels to date (new ride not here yet). It was a blast to ride. If the RS series didn't suck for passenger comfort and safety, I would still own it. I loved it.

And another positive from me

My Spyder is all BRP. No mods! This may change with BajaRon's shock adjustment mod, but for now it is just BRP.

"ALONG CAME A SPYDER"

I have a 2008 yellow/black GS Spyder Roadster. When I bought it, it was still in a crate and was one of the first in Olympia. I Love my Spyder! I put a Micron exhaust on it, Corbin seats with back rests, larger windshield, K&N air filter, Baja Ron sway bar, and black wheels in front. I also have a Harley but I enjoy riding the Spyder more! It also gets more looks from the Ladies!

Ride Safe,
Grizz:doorag:

A few weeks ago I went for a ride with my husband and some "new" folks. A friend of my husband's and some friends of the friends. It was a mixed bag. 2 cruisers and 2 sport bikes and me on my Spyder. We met up in a parking lot where some other friends of the friends noticed them and stopped by to chat before we left. Everyone came over to talk about the Spyder. I don't think anyone had seen one up close before and everyone was curious. We geared up and pulled out and then had to wait to make a left onto a very busy street. Then we drove along the foothills to our lunch stop which was popular with the HD crowd. I parked on the end of a long line of motorcycles and we sat out on the patio and had lunch. I'm used to the "rock star" thing and hardly even notice it anymore. My back was to the parking lot. Suddenly one of the guys turns to me and says, "Man! That thing sure gets a lot of attention. Everyone whose walked past it has stopped to look at it and those people just stopped to take a picture!"

Too funny.

We love our 2008 GS

We bought our Spyder the 9th of April in 2008 and have had so many great rides on it over the past 6 years. We turned over the 100,000 mile mark earlier this year and since then have added another 7,000 miles. Our biggest regret is that we live in Cental NY and can't ride for about 3 to 4 months every year mainly because of all the salt applied to the roads around here. We have really had great luck with the Spyder with no major problems, have had a few smaller incidents and some that had nothing to do with the Spyder itself. This bike has become part of our family and we are hoping to ride it for several more thousands of miles (my wife says we are going for the 200,000 mile mark....who knows?).

We have been to many, many of the Spyder related events like SITS, SITA, some the BRP sponsored events like the homecoming at the factory in Valcourt and the Chicago event, and of course Spyderfest in Mo. for 2 years, and last year Spyderfest in Lake George, NY. We have many many dear friends because of the Spyder and only wish we could see more of them more often.

All in all BRP has changed our lives through the Spyder. It truly is a really great machine and is, I believe, one of the best bikes on the market today!

yellow

Andy; I love your two tone, is it paint or vinyl?:thumbup:

Its vinyl, put on by a professional, I bought a black one for an unbelievable price, but a black bike is hard to notice, so I spent some $$ making it more noticeable and hope I dont get hit.
Andy

i'm sorry you haven't been able to enjoy this truly unique machine. My wife and I have a 2010 orbital blue (love that color) RT A&C SE5 with 24000 miles. I ride Skoot3r daily and have never tired of the ride. We have no desire to get rid of our RT simply because it's old and obsolete-it meet all our needs and gives us no problems. It's also gratifying to read that other riders feel the same.

yes this has been a good read

once again thanks to all..Monday I went to the HD shop to get a gift for my wife's birthday this weekend.. she has a Harley Heritage. she wants me to teach her how to ride the Spyder.. er, uh m of course , when I figure it out my self.. I must remember to stop putting m feet down when I come to a stop....

cold and raining here in Ky that day .. I could have takn the freeway and got home in 15 minutes..but took the backroads and got lost.. took me over over an hour get home.. guess my mind knew what my body needed.. or visa versa.. hope to do this someday with the Spyder... I guess that road trip was long overdue as short as it was.. ..gotta try it again someday on the sPyDeR

That kind of sounds like Lamont's "milk run" a few years back...;)

I bought my first spyder on Sept. 19, 2012( RTS-SE5 Quantum Metallic Blue) I put on 2,988 miles, had it for 2 years, had a blast with it, went to Spyderfest in Springfield, Mo in 2013 + 2014, also went to Spyderquest, in Lake George, New York ( Sept. 2013)................

then I took a demo ride on a 2014RT-SE6 in Springfield, Mo. and I was thinking to my self I got to have a 2014RT-SE6 In Cognac. So on July 30, 2014, I traded the 2012RTS-SE5 in and bought a ............................................2014RTS-SE6 Cognac. I have been to New Hampshire, ( several times) Spyderquest, Lake George and I have 2,900 miles on it, ( the week-end that I bought it I put on 400 miles, bought it @ Walt's Sales & Service in Derby, Vermont). The 2014RTS-SE6 is trouble free.

I really love it, I can not wait until Spring to put more miles on it. ( my :spyder2: is in winter hibernation ) I have done a Farkle on it this past summer, you can see the farkle on this site " in my photo album" and in the " Riding Groups" Vermont Spyder Ryder's, NY Spyder Ryder's, New England Spyder Ryder's. I am not turning back, and I am a happy :spyder2: owner. It a conversation piece, where ever I go, people stop and ask questions. Deanna

2014 Spyder RTL

I bought my Spyder in July of 2014. It has been trouble free and a real pleasure to operate. My dealer, Mountain Motorsports of Marietta, GA, has been excellent. It replaced an over complicated, troublesome BMW GS and the miserable service that the dealer provided. Recently, I bought a Honda Valkyrie that I enjoy for brief runs around the neighborhood. For any trips over an hour, I will use the Spyder. It is safe to say that after decades of riding motorcycles, I have never been more pleased with a bike than I am with the Spyder.

It seems to me that given the complexity of the Spyder, that a competent dealer is the most important element of a successful ownership experience.
