• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will Someone Please Send Their '14 Seat to Utopia?

Bob has to have one in order to fabricate the brackets and is offering a deal on anyone who will send their seat to him. I guess most of you are like me, just can't bear to be without the seat right now. I'm hoping to have a Utopia before Springfield. :) If interested, email or call him for details. Numbers on his web site.

Well..!!

ryding without it can be rather uncomfortable to say the least...the only ones would be those snow bound but for how long seeing as they are all waiting at the ready for a break to go out on the road. Some are getting dizzy circling in the garage...:roflblack::roflblack: If I had one I would send it....

Hey, I was the one who did it in 2010. You can go without in 2014 for a couple of weeks. You'd need to give him detailed feedback since he'll not have the Spyder to take measurement from. I found the process to be interesting and even came up with a way to get measurements of gaps between the saddle and the bike that Bob had never thought of before. If I had a 2014 RT, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I also sent him the passenger backrest so he could use it to create the proper stitching and select the proper materials to make it OEM-looking. I think he did a great job!

not too many people even have the new bikes yet, me included.
Hope someone besides Setho in Minn. might let you have one, Setho will be riding his even now. :yikes:

Bob Denman to the rescue!!!

This sounds like a job for Bob Denman!!
We all know that he's having to smuggle in farkles for his new 2014 under the cover of darkness
and in plain wrappers to avoid the consequences of being caught in the act by Mrs. Bob.
(After all, he did promise!)
If he's suitably rewarded (50% off a brand new posh, comfy seat) he can send his OEM seat
to Utopia the very second his new bike lands in his garage and get the new seat custom made.
What a wonderful and philanthropic gesture that would be to all of the prospective 2014 RT owners!!
Bob is a selfless and generous soul at heart and this one is right up his street!!

If the old seats fit I will do it

Here's my suggestion, if someone has traded in there 13 for the 14 and they got an aftermarket seat for there 13 that went with it to the dealer. They might still have the original 13 seat... which would fit right on the 14. Then they could send off the seat no problem. But with all the benefits of the BRP backrest and the nice look of it, I don't know why anyone would want a utopia. Yes I know they're expensive but in my opinion better quality. and the seats are way better this year. Way more comfortable, durable and better looking.

The 2014 seats are now cut out from top to bottom to accommodate BRPs backrest so I can see why Utopia would need to borrow one.

If you don't have any real back issues, and use a backrest just for a bit more comfort, then I can agree with you.

Unfortunately I have a crappy lower back and BRP seats do not adjust; Utopia seats do..forward and back...and to some extent up and down. I modify the brackets to lower the backrest all the way till it touches the seat, thereby giving my lower lumbar the most support where its needed.
