Will my 2016 rider backrest fit on the 2020?

Will my 2016 rider backrest fit on the 2020 or do I get to buy a new one?

The 2020 RT's have completely different seats to the earlier RT's, so while your 2016 RT Rider's backrest will fit any similar std RT Seat from 2010 right thru to 2019 (with the appropriate 'under-seat' bracket of course! ) I don't believe that it'll fit on the 2020 RT's at all! :shocked:

Sorry, but if you've gone & bought yourself a new 2020 RT, then it's probably also time to buy yourself a new backrest! Enjoy! hyea: :thumbup:

I've had a 2015 RTL and now a 2020 RTL, both with the backrests. On the earlier bikes the backrest mounting bracket bolted to the seat. On the 2020, the mount is bolted to the bike frame under the seat.

valueaccessories.net has an after market seat just out that won't break the bank as in the OEM back rest. The least expensive does not have a big foot print on the back, but looks like it will serve the purpose and not leave a 'big' sweat mark. Looks sturdy and fairly easy install with only two holes to drill in the install part and easily removable by merely lifting up on the seat.
