Will Baker Built Air Wings reduce wind noise and buffeting?

I am still working to reduce wind noise and buffeting at highway speed on my Rally model. I purchased a CalSci windshield soon after i realized that the BRP sport windshield wasn't all I wanted. Although it reduced most of my helmet buffeting the wind noise continues. I wear custom ear plugs with speakers whenever I ride so that I can listen to music but the constant wind noise is still problematic. Has anyone tried the Baker Built Air Wings for the Ryker and can provide any feedback? If you have them do you just set them and forget them or do you change positions according to the season?

Tslepebull, I have used the Baker air wings on a number of my bikes (although not on a Ryker). They are more designed to increase and reduce airflow on your legs/hands/body than on your helmet……yes, you swivel the wings out in winter to keep cold wind off, and you swivel them in, in summer, to bring more air onto your body. They may remove some of the noise coming up under your helmet, but that is not their prime aim.

Tslepebull, It might be your helmet causing most of your wind noise. I have 6 helmets, only three that I can wear. All because of wind noise. Full face helmets are quieter than open face. Some brands are quieter than others.
There are some tricks you can do to make your helmet quieter, just Google Making motorcycle helmet quieter. :cheers:

Rick, I have never had a true windshield to comment, but I've had 3 Dart Marlin flyscreens (great for wind reduction/almost elimination on the chest) and the Can-Am Sport windscreen on the Ryker. I was comfortable at any speed and longer rides (1100 miles in 6 days)

I am with Ziggy re likely helmet issue.
The quietest helmets wife and I had were Shoei S20, circa 1976...no ear plugs necessary.
Since then, I have not been inclined to buy expensive helmets.

My Bilt Route ($80) has an excellent integrated sun screen, the air vents are not quality, the shield is OK, but earplugs are mandatory other than around town.

My HJC IS30 ($160?) sun screen mechanism is not rugged, but the air vents are easy to use and work well, the shield operates smoothly and ear plugs are almost optional.

And rider reviews may depend on the bike, the rider's head shape, proper fit, etc.
The proper size in a full-face is claustrophobic to me.

Difficult to evaluate noise suppression without a test ride at speed, especially considering Ryker cruising RPMs.

First, you have not mentioned what type of Helmet that you use.

FYI a Beanie or half helmet is nothing more than a Make Believe Helmet, worthless in a crash. Very noisy with no sound protection.

You should go to a good shop, Cycle Gear would be a good choice, gives you a chance to try on many, also they can help with the proper fit.

Thanks Dean, my current helmet is a Nolan N100-5 modular that I purchased in 2019. I am aware that the modular designs are not as quiet as some of the fixed full face but I like the convenience of the Nolan cam-lock and the ability to flip up the front at times and have owned four of the previous Nolan N series. The buffeting feels like it it is coming from below and hits my upper arms, shoulder, and sides of the helmet. I can duck my head below the level of my windscreen and loose some of the noise but still feel pressure pulses on both arms.

On my previous BMW GS I added lower wind deflectors to the faring panels panels and they made a great improvement in smoothing air flow around the windscreen. I am just looking for something similar for the Ryker. My guess is that there is a lot of turbulent air coming over the A-arms and body panels.

I'm going to be adding some wind deflectors that mount on the handgrips because I'm getting the buffeting on my arms.
