• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will a software update fix the crappy sound?

On my 18 F3-L, I dont even bother using the speakers because they suck so bad. Even when just cruising around at 40 MPH. it is too embarrassing when a nothing bike rolls next to me and their sound is fantastic.

I know I am behind on software updates, so taking it up tomorrow to get mine up to date. Will that help the sound at all? Or will I be forced to replace the speakers, etc to have it sound like a 20K bike?

Some here have had improvement from the up-date, maybe you'll get lucky ..... A few have tried the Speaker up-grade ( Polk, JBL , etc. ) without noticeable improvement .... I would review what " Joel The Biker " has achieved, He is the ONLY one who has gotten a hugh improvement ...... Mike

does anyone know what the latest software or firmware version, for the F3-Limited.. Is

For the 2018/19's the firmware is 20.8 - For the 2020's it's 30.6 and for the 2021's it's 40.6

There are multiple volume controls to check. The music source (smartphone) needs to be up. In the settings there is "Automatic Volume Control" so when you go faster the volume gets higher. If you want to hear it at a stop then change it and see if it makes a difference. Both my 2018 and 2021 F3 sound great.

So I got updated to the latest version. And the sound is vastly better. But if I play any songs with a lot of bassier drums, I still get a pop sound. (depending on how loud it is)

I think I will still go ahead and have my mechanic guy replace everything to see if I can make the sound better with bass and no popping.

I use blue tooth speakers in my helmet, when I want to listen to music. I hate it when someone pulls up on a bike, (Usually an HD) and their music is blasting away.

In my 2016 F3L the front speakers are not baffled properly so much of the bottom end is lost. Winding up the bass to compensate just causes more distortion. I'm guessing that later models have the same problem.
I don't see how a software update could cure the problem but I haven't tried it so I wouldn't know. Maybe it changes the default EQ settings.

The BRP audio system has a few filters in it .... However it's not realistic to expect a 4-5-6 inch speaker cone to be able to produce even decent BASS. Do an on-line search for BASS speakers, I don't think you will find anything less than 8 inches, maybe not even 10 inches .....jmho .... Mike

True, but 8 or 10 inch speakers aren't likely to squeeze into the space. Considering we're less than 2 feet away from them I would expect better sound even from 5 inch. Many of the sound systems I've worked on over the years use very small speakers and get a surprising amount of bottom end. Consider the Bose 802.

Whatever, we have to work with what we have - badly baffled tiny speakers.

I've posted MY speaker opinions elsewhere , But be to totally Frank .... if you expect " Concert Hall " sound .... go to a Concert Hall ..... expecting to achieve " concert Hall quality " from a Motorcycle defies Logic..... A few years back another member here claimed the No Bass problem could be Fixed by sealing the speaker " Seams " on the RT with Silicone :gaah: .... because they weren't AIR TIGHT ..... luckily I was able to advise Him that if He did that ... they would FILL with water and fry the speakers and wiring..... good luck ....
