• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will a 2024 Sea to Sky let me navigate via my Samsung phone?

I ride a 2024 Sea2Sky and use an iPhone SE 2nd Gen.
I have a SENA headset in my helmet that is bluetooth paired to my Spyder and to my iPhone.
When I ride, my iPhone is connected to the USB port in the glove box using an Apple lightning cable.

I did have to connect my Spyder to my home WiFi network to download the software updates to the Spyder that included Apple Carplay. That's a one time thing.

In order to use Carplay there are a couple of odd steps to get everything connected.
First: turn on the Spyder. You don't have to start the engine, but the key has to be in the On position so the display starts up. Roll the throttle forward to acknowledge the normal message.
Second: turn on the bluetooth headset
Third: plug the iPhone cable into the iPhone and then connect it to the USB port on the Spyder.

It's also worth pointing out that the 2024 Operator's Guide has the following information on Page 50. Note that it says the headset has to be paired with the Spyder's display, but doesn't say the phone has to be paired:

To use the Apple CarPlay, you must
1. Connect a compatible smartphone to the display via USB cable.
2. Pair a helmet audio system to the display via Bluetooth.

NOTE:
If one of the two devices is not properly connected, Apple CarPlay can not be used.

I also drive a Honda Ridgeline which supports Apple Carplay on it's display, which requires similar steps.

Turn on the Ridgeline, then connect the iPhone to the cable and plug the cable into the USB port on the dash.

If I don't plug the cable in after starting the Ridgeline the display prompts me to connect my phone. And if the cable is connected when I start the Ridgeline I still have to disconnect and then reconnect the cable to the USB port on the dash.

Note: Google is releasing a new Android Auto update. One of the features is... motorcycle support and directions supposedly. Hmmm... I wonder if that supports dual BT connections to bike and helmet? Should be downloadable in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll try that on my Samsung Note 20 5G hooked to my Sena 50S helmet. Maybe it's time to re-visit a mount for somewhere around the left speaker so's I get an actual map view and spoken directions to my helmet... just saying...
