• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will a 2014 RT windshield fit a 2020 RT?

I put my Can-Am short windshield from my 2014RT on my 2020 RT without any problem at all. Even the footprint of the cover is the same (which is good, because it left some scratching on the windshield). You'll be perfectly fine.

One of the things that I didn't notice about the stock windshield until I took it off was that the bottom of the stock windshield for the RT-L is actually black and hides the hardware. It's a good touch, but not as important as having the windshield you like.

I have a stock height (4" wider) 7Jurock windscreen (with a recurve) I bought for my 2018 RTL. When I sat on a new RT, it sure looked like the stock screen was higher than the stock 2018 screen. I can almost see selling the 7Jurock and buying a shorter (sport) windscreen. What I'm saying is while they may fit, they may (or may not, I don't own a 2020+ yet) end up the same height compared to the rider.

You might be right: I cut 3-1/2" off of my stock 2020 RT windscreen - The top of it was at eye level when all the way down. I am 6 feet tall. Even cut down, I don't raise it all the way up at highway speeds. No pillion/passenger ever - so that was not a consideration for me. Don't like riding and looking through the windscreen unless it is raining. Will be looking into a little bit wider windscreen though as I catch some wind on my upper body, mostly upper arms area. Upcoming colder temps will help me to figure out what I need.

Good to know. I like the windscreen pretty low during the summer months. I don't like looking through the windscreen unless it's the middle of winter or it's raining. I'm not skilled enough to dare cut down a windscreen on my own but may very well have to buy something else that's shorter. The wider screen on my 7Jurock works very well in winter to keep a little bit of wind off of my arms/shoulders. I don't need that in summer!

Not difficult at all if you have any experience with a jig saw. Just tape it off with blue tape on both sides, mark your cut line with a sharpie following your template, and go very slow with your jig saw mounted with a fine tooth saw blade. Then go back after you cut it and sand down the tooth marks with 100 grit then 220 grit sand paper using a 2x4 scrap as a sanding block. Took me less than an hour including prep work. The cutting part was only 10-15 minutes.

For a template I just used some cardboard that I cut with scissors to the exact shape of the top of the windscreen (before cutting). You will have to interpolate at the edges because the windscreen is tapered from top to bottom.

If I ever decide to cut down my stock windscreen, I'll ride down to GA and you can do the work. :)
