Wild fires in Chelan Co, Washington

Just fine...gotta love the media/EXAGGERATION folks

Hey, MurphyBrown!!

I just saw a news crawl about fires in your area. Is everything OK there?

Yes we have our annual wildfires. The majority of the fires are in rural and very rugged terrain so basically the fire crews watch for getting close to structures (oh yes people do build their homes out in the boonies and are not prepared for taking care of their own fire protection....[see a rant in that comment, Patti]...yep it is there). Very little smoke...a little this morning...but until now crystal clear blue skies. I Remember one year the fires were burning and yes fairly close to town but not in residential..hillsides with lots of dry grass...my kids owned a motel and the media was staying there. I was there and this reporter was in panic , reporting live mode and showing pictures that were from about 15 miles away. He got done and I said "what the heck you talking about". He said well if I tell the viewers that we are at a really nice motel, sitting around the pool and looking at the lake they won't watch....:yikes::banghead:. Will need to wait for fall, cooler temps, rain and snow to put them out....humanly cannot fight them in that billy goat terrain!!!
Thanks for your concern...

I'm glad you and yours are OK. And that you handle it with your usual aplomb!

As to news media, that's kind of how they handle tornado watches here.

Good news..!!

that your alright up there Murphy Brown. Fire can be so unpredictable so we will worry anyway. As for the media...that is what it has come to..

Maybe time to take the trailer on a special trip and park it overnight where it will be nice and warm. :roflblack::roflblack:

Glad to hear you are all right though.

Now see my aged mind is missing opportunities ...
