• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We just came home from Flint, MI. We went there using the GPS set on "avoid highways". Only 112 miles but almost three hours. After standing in a flag line with the MI PGR we went for ice cream and then left Flint. Or friends got us on I-69 and we took that all the way to I-94. Not sure how many miles but about two hours of riding. So now my wife says we are grown up riders!!! Riding the highways was great.

Those highways can be a bit 'hairy' at times, and I really do like the back roads better. But, where we live, to get anywhere, have to take one of the highways. I'm getting more confident now, and stay aware all of the time. So glad you're all grown up lol!!

Back Roads

The problem with the back roads around here (WV and Southwestern PA) is deer!! At least on the Interstate sometimes you have a little more time to react.

 Now my Missus keeps telling me that while I'm growing older by the minute; I just ain't growing up much! :roflblack:

my wife and i just got back from johnson city tn. 542 miles ( one way) and never rode on an interstate. took 2 days but saw some beautiful farm lands in ga, sc,nc, and tn.

life is good

I ride on highway all week to get to work. I actually prefer the back roads. It is a more relaxing ride for me.

:congrats:. I69 is a pretty good choice for your first Interstate ride. I'm not a big fan of I94 even in your neck of the woods. It is a little narrow and has so many semis so you really did earn your big boy points on that one.

We have to watch the deer, too, especially during rutting!! Other animals can be a problem as well, but there have also been some pavement pelt deer along the sides of our highway. That's why we all just need to be super-conscious of everything around us!
