Why

Why would anybody want to sit in the left hand lane, as close as possible to oncoming traffic especially in those conditions?

I see that a lot on undivided roads near home and it always amazes me. I want to be as far away as possible from a potential head-on crash at a combined 120mph. I stay to the right unless I'm overtaking then it's back to the right as soon as possible.
