• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

why ride a spyder

sometimes when I pull up into a parking lot full of bikes, folks look at the spyder and ask why ride that thing. I get off the spyder, open the frunk and retrieve my foldable cane. I look them in the eye and and say, because I still like to ride. when you can't handle a 2 wheeler like you used to, you will have to decide if you want to sit on the porch or run with the pack.

That's very similar to how I respond, except I don't have the cane.

"When you get to be my age, and have ridden motorcycles for as long as I have, you'll understand. It's either stay in the wind on three wheels, or retire to the rocking chair. I chose to stay in the wind."

I tell them, 2 back surgeries, three knee surgeries and 2 shoulder surgeries. Ride like the wind bulls eye.

Right on Pam, I also tell them, Their time is coming when that choice will have to be made. Me, I want the wind in my face as long as possible.

I agree with you all. I'm in my mid 40's and i like the style and the 3 wheels. I have rode the two wheels for a while and just decided to go to 3 and love it. I never really paid much attention to the 3 wheeled motorcycle until i saw the RT and i was hooked by the style and the look of the Spyder!! :ohyea:

Non comformist...

I tell them that I don't get much out of two wheels anymore. Done the off road, trails, street and sport and a bit of racing. If they had had these machines when I started I would have never gone to two wheels. :yikes: what can I say ... They are that challenging and fun.:ohyea::ohyea:don't knock them till you have really tried them, I mean really tried them and not around the block.....

I also say, "Why Not?" and sometimes add because I like it a lot. They sometimes see me pull out the folding cane when I head into wherever.

Depends......

Depends who asks and the way they ask.. If it is a genuine question or someone just being smart.....My answer can range from a honest answer about my back issues and not being able to hold up a 2 wheeler 2 up with gear anymore..... To something a lot simpler and a lot less sociable.
