• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why recall on 2015-2019 pulleys only?

What happened in 2015 causing BRP to switch to a faulty pulley? Money?
What caused BRP to switch from the faulty pulley after 2019? Did they already know it was faulty back then?
Of course I am assuming BRP will not expand the recall

WHY ????? ... BRP is NEVER going to tell us/you/me !!!! ..... The Pulley failure thing began with the 15 F-3 .... However, it took a while for the failures to occur/show up ..... The newer WHITE pulleys are also failing ( from what I've read on this forum ). BRP employs a strange group of engineers ..... they have often tried to FIX things that weren't broken ... until they tried to FIX them & subsequently BROKE them ( ie. the DESS module ) :banghead: I have NO Red Dust on my 14 RT Pulley and am grateful for that ..... A Very Good Question

:coffee:....I really don't know. A very good question but I don't have any answers. ......

There were some early failures on the Spyders with the 998 twin engine platform with lower hhp and torque, and probably due to manufacturing tolerance range and maintenance as with most mechanical failures IMHO. With the 1330 engine and higher torque output from that platform, as well as the larger rear sprocket on some F3s when they came out the front sprocket failures were more common. A larger rear spocket caused a higher torque load (also allowing Sport mode).

As others have stated the failures on RTs have been substantially less. IF/when BRP "cures" the front sprocket issue, then bearnings/belts might be the next weakest link...JMO

Good question. Later models than the 2019 are also having the pulley replaced, but as most here in Oz come with 3yr warranty I guess that's why they aren't in the list.

neither do I, but it failed the inspection and my N/C receipt has a big red stamp that reads ' unsafe to ride'

I am waiting on a new sprocket to come in so they can do the temporary fix.

Are the part numbers for the '14 and earlier different, and will they fit on the tranny output shaft of the subsequent Spyders, potentially a fix.
