• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How is it we are less than a month away from the 2014 announcements and neither Juice Box Pro or Power Commander show a product on their website for the 2013 models yet? For anyone with a intake and exhaust system on their 2013 how are you tuning it?

Didn't BRP completely change around the computerized systems on their bikes for 2013?
This often takes the aftermarket longer than usual to figure out what they need...

The issue of the boiling gas on the RT LTDs pretty much made me decide to wait and see about the '14s. Now I read that there is a recall about the master cylinder melting due to heat. What's next, a three wheel molotov cocktail???????????????????

Not meant to be... I think if we would back up just a bit and look at the whole picture, risk vs gain, expenditure vs return for the vendor, we would have our answer.

I'm guessing your bike is not sitting... unable to be ridden.... I guess the joke is on the 2013 Spyder buyers.... they are not riders...Their bikes are un-rideable....Do your plugs look like this? spyder plug.jpg Has your bike gotten so hot it melted the Master cyl ... and shudders and shakes at takeoff even when cool? The Jokester reference is not funny here... Maybe you can laugh,...We are not laughing with you. I don't blame the vendors... I blame BRP.

FB bought a swaybar and links for her spyder.. they haven't shipped yet... but at this point it is just putting lipstick on a pig. personally I'm looking to dump this lemon. hate that we have already put so much into it....
 
Wow guess I missed the joke. So almost a year after the first 2013 was sold and still no fuel management system for the bikes but you can buy an exhaust and air intake system. Didn't realize I was asking so much. I have a RS-S which is not affected by the recall so I'm riding my bike daily and no there doesn't seem to be more heat than any other EPA lean bike. I rode today and it was 106 degrees out and I was riding in shorts around town. Bike did not go up in flames and my legs are not burnt and blistered. I went with the 2013 over the 2012 due to the upgraded suspension geometry, cruise control, new wheels, and updated instrument cluster. By the way y'all are talking all 2013 owners should park their bikes and never ride them again.
 
Let me say this... FB LOVES her spyder, but is sick with the problems.... I have installed heat shields for the brake master cyl and the gas tank... The master cyl melted, and the gas tank was spewing gas at her when she would fillup before I did this... the gas tank should not be the heat sink for a hot running engine. The heat shield for the master cyl is a band aid at best for other issues...... but maybe it will keep the bikes from burning to the ground....nojoke Her bike is still not running right..... The real issues of reducing the heat and getting the heat out of the Tupperware have not been addressed.

So far; we've only seen "Teaser" pics of a 2014 RT...
let's hope that BRP has some ST changes in the works that'll help get the airfilow under the Tupperware moving more effectively. :thumbup:
(It appears as if there's some new ducting on the RTs. :shocked:)

I am not sure where you are coming from on this. My post is in specific reference to the OP's original quesion as to why Power Commander has not yet come out with an aftermarket fuel management system for the 2013 Spyder. It has nothing to do with any OEM, BRP issues.

The picture I posted is of the 'Riddler', not the 'Joker'. I have never referenced the issues that owners are having with the 2013 Spyder as being a joke. I'm sorry you took it this way.

I know it is a tough time for 2013 Spyder owners, and I sympathize with you completely. The same thing happened with the 08/09 Spyder DPS (steering) issue (which I was involved in). Everyone was up in arms. Get rid of the 'Lemon', can't ride my Spyder, piece of junk, never should have purchased it, etc. BRP got the DPS issue resolved and now, for those that stuck it out, we are very happy campers.

Not diminishing the anguish or the righteous anger at all. But reality is, you either hang tough and reap the rewards of an ultimate fix and great ride, or you cut your losses and get out of the game.

There are many 2013 Spyder owners who do not have problems. And BRP is working hard to fix the rides of those who do. Should your Spyder have been delivered with these problems in the 1st place? No, obviously not. Is it reasonable to be angry? Sure. But the real question is, where do we go from here.
 
I would think the 2013 RT ans ST would benefit greatly from a tuner. With a good tune that could richer up the engine you would think that would help to reduce the over all heat and make the bike run better two fold.
