• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why is the RT so different??????

I've been a bike rider for 45 years - starting on a Honda CB160. Like many riders, I turned my toys often, to experience a vast array of models. With the exception of a crotch rocket - which I've never wanted or owned - I've probably had at least one of most road bikes, at one time or another.

Shortly after buying one, the farkle fever hit, and I started customizing the bike - when done, I sold it and started again. This was even true for the RS that I bought before the RT was born… I treated that one like my Harleys, even though the farkle book was far smaller.

Now enter the RT - yes, I changed the seat - I like Corbin seats - the shocks - that was mandatory, not a farkle - and added a couple of stickers. I look at various items, research them, and just decide the RT is fine the way it is. The heat out the side doesn't even bother me - I live in the Great Northwet, after all… So why no farkle fever??? Is the RT that refined?? I even bought, then removed the trailer hitch.. It's not age - farkles still abound on my other bikes….

I look forward to your thoughts.

When it comes to the Spyder, I'm just not a farkle guy. :dontknow:

Now, I've done a zillion things to my RS, but they're all practical in some way.

Custom paint jobs aside, there aren't a lot of other ways to make the Spyder look different. While a matter of personal taste, chrome doesn't really go with the Spyder's sea of plastic. Accessories like custom seats, pegs, boards, backrests, sidebags, etc. certainly can dress a Spyder nicely, but again, they're all practical in their own way (and with the RT, plenty stuff comes stock, so you have even fewer opportunities to add stuff).

Personally, while I know that it'd never happen, I wish there was a Spyder model that had metal skin vice tupperware, I think you could have yourself a nice looking ride that way. THEN I might get into the chrome habit, but now? Eh.

Well since I just can't leave anything alone; I farkle up my bikes, Sleds, Quads, trucks, cars, bows, sidearms and rifles...
The Missus knows that for sure I'm going to die and leave her with a pile of unpaid bills... it's that fear that keeps her from killing me! :roflblack:

The RT's design is light years ahead, it is hard to add much without taking away the from the lines. In the past I added pracitical items to my bikes but most of them already come with the RT. I like the lines so much I do not want to cover them up but that being said I have still managed to drop anther $6K in accessories ( I do all the work myself so that is just materials).
