• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why is the Factory PSI thread closed?

Many of us are trying to arrive at the facts. If, indeed 15 front is correct, then 25 front is possibly dangerous. (erratic handling, diminished traction). If, indeed, 25 is correct, then 15 is equally bad. We need answers to this very important question. 1 psi, in either direction, affects how a vehicle handles. Please explain to this forum why this thread was closed. I detected no hostility at all.

The numbers were all over the place.

We don't have to give explanations and usually don't. The rules refer to it as "argumentative" behavior.

A final # for you. The OEM Kenda tires have pretty much been the following since 2008. This includes ALL models.

Rear tire: 28 PSI. Fronts 15 PSI. If you go to other tires, or want a "non-factory" ride, the pressures you use are in your hands.

The Kenda's wear out prematurely according to many. I always got 20K from the fronts and 15K from the rears. 7 Spyders, 200,000 miles. I don't ride anymore so try to stay out of these kerfuffle's.

Some ERRONEOUS numbers have been supplied by dealers that only know how to take your money and provide TERRIBLE service. BRP should do something about that.

Pete, you may have detected no hostility at all, but there were a few more people involved in that thread than just you, and the fact that you &/or anyone else thought that it was OK to continue only goes to show how much effort the Mod Team had put in and how well they had been managing that thread! nojoke

And that's not counting all the extra crap going on caused by all those others who feel it's their right to argue every post from anyone else &/or to argue about any Mod Team decision via PM!!

That thread went because it had degenerated into a pointless bunfight going nowhere that was requiring far too much Mod Team intervention to keep on track - and it was about things that have all been covered here before anyway! :gaah:

As for any questions/concerns about Tire Pressures, factory or otherwise, there is a VAST amount of info & discussion already on the Forum about this for any who aren't scared of doing some searching and reading; and if you bother looking at anything much of that it will quickly become obvious that one of the MAJOR reasons that there are discrepancies in what people understand from BRP's documentation, user manuals, website info etc. etc. is that their documentation is very poor and inconsistent, and often erroneously 'cut & paste' from year to year/model to model with no concern for making sure it is still accurate or that they are still referring to the same model Spyder! Heck, the initial info published on their website included old & superseded specification details for the RT's in their specs for the new Canyon - details that clearly did not apply any longer, let alone to the new Canyon! Similarly, the knowledge and advice shared with owners by their dealers & techs as gospel from BRP often has little to do with reality, accuracy, &/or the effectiveness, longevity, &/or safety of the Spyders & their Ryders in the real world! :cus:

Trust BRP's documentation &/or dealer recommendations at your own risk! :lecturef_smilie:
