• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why is it....

that sometimes I can just switch my ignition on and hit the start button and crank right up and other times (mostly) I have to go throught the preflight checklist to crank up? Perhaps my lack of tech ability is the reason...but I can't find an answer in my owner's manual. Thanks.

It's a time thing it gives you a restart if it hasn't been to long otherwise you must reboot nanny

If you have recently run the bike, it''ll allow you to start it up without the mode button getting mashed if it hasn't been shut off for more than about 5 minutes...

Bob D. is right on.

My .02: Cold starts: always let the computer do its thing on start up--and don't rush it. You can end up with a "computer moment".

R1100, You & I must have been typing at the same time... If I had seen your response, I'd have just said, ":agree:"

MODE BUTTON

THE Press the Mode button is a royal pain but it is a small security feature....if someone has or finds you're key and they try to start you're Spyder they had better know about the MODE button thing or they are out of luck on the THEFT THING.......JMHO...Mike...

If you can speed read the safety card faster, then you should be able to hit the mode button to start the Spyder faster .:roflblack:

Well I really dis-like that feature as well, but like someone told me when you start to put your gear on I insert key 1st and turn it on. By the time I have my helmet buckled it is ready to go.
